We keep it up roughly a third of the year. After Halloween we put a giant Santa hat that our friend made (they are also a 12 ft skeleton haver) and then it’s a Christmas decoration. In 2024 we got a citation from the city for keeping it up too long. The only silver lining is that they didn’t cite us for having a Halloween decoration up too long, they accepted that the Santa hat made it a Christmas decoration with no input from us.
Was the citation for having it up too long in the spring? You could add some bunny ears and a basket to make it spring acceptable. Or some hearts for valentines day.
There’s one in my neighborhood that’s up year round & they have tons of outfits for him. My favorite is his 4th of July outfit.
