It’s still a concern. Trump is just a rogue narcissist that got traction where he could. The organizations propping him up are well-coordinated and dedicated to an actual set of coherent values, which are terrible for the average person. A Trump assassination would allow them the ability to use martyrdom to market an otherwise unpalatable candidate who is either already sincerely on board with their values or will at least follow their marching orders. It’s enough of a concern that there’s a real possibility the potential assassin could be something like this:

eh, arguably best case scenario is him dying in some public embarrassing eay. like tripping down the stairs of air force one

the conservative propaganda sphere wants him assassinated, hence why that kid was allowed to try and take him out prior to the election.

as it turns out, when you limit your application pool to only blindly loyal sheep who just can’t wait for the order to tonguepunch trump’s leaky asshole, you now have nothing but complete fucking morons to choose from

Kinda. Like littering and illegal dumping offer harborage to to pathogens and pests, stochastic political environments arising from sudden power vacuums give fuel and cover to some terrible politicians. A Trump assassination isn’t going to pave the way for another Mohandas Gandhi. If anything, the next Hitler or Stalin might grow from the corpse of Trump’s political movement. If a citizen of the next nation he threatens to annex assassinated him, it could be a Franz Ferdinand situation.

There is only one solution. Every Secret Service agent should go to an intense, 6-week refresher training camp where they can re-learn their protective skills. They should all go at the same time, to reduce their “down time” and to make sure they all get the same training.

Meanwhile, our Dear Leader should confidently and freely mingle with The People to let them know the problem is being handled.

    Problem solved.

i’m pretty sure there’s an active push to get him assassinated. he’s MUCH more valuable to maga as a martyr than he is as a senile old man.

it’s wild how close protestors have been allowed to get recently.

This is my feeling, too. If someone with brown skin and blue hair offs him, the RNC could take the next few elections, after which there might not be real elections.

Is this an confession that people are now “after him”?

Maybe he should change his ways.

TBF, no matter who’s in that spot there’s always someone after them - you can’t please all the people all the time, and all that. There’s a reason the Secret Service (SS? Hmmm…) exists, after all.

        (SS? Hmmm…)

If you don’t LEARN from history it tends to repeat itself.

The Secret Service’s role in protecting presidents and presidential candidates precedes WWII and even WWI by a fair margin, so this isn’t as clever as you might think.
