My interpretation is that “the” and “a” is doing a lot of work there. Maybe a translation quirk? It reads like, if it’s misspelt 4 times in THE death note (the one you’re holding), but later on it clarifies that it doesn’t make you immune from ANY death note. So it’s not so much complete immortality as limited exclusion to prevent abuse, which makes sense if you imagine some Eldritch death God being spammed with junk assassination requests. This also happens to me, but I’ve noticed it’s only a very specific combination of factors that triggers it.

• It has to be a high stakes engagement. Something that matters deeply to me.
• It has to be addressed now, no delaying or waiting until I calm down. Either because it’s time critical or the other person refuses to let me disengage and follows me.
• Talking is the only option. There’s no other solution to this confrontation than words. I’m not good at words so this stresses me out.
• The other person has all the power in this confrontation. If I do nothing, they “win” by default
• The other person doesn’t agree with me, and no matter what I say, it’s not working.

So really it only happens for me when I’m backed into a corner and have to talk my way out. I get upset because it’s actually an unwinnable war. Actually, typing this out makes me feel a bit better about it, because it’s obvious there was never going to be a good outcome in those kinds of “discussions” anyway.

It’s poorly planned because it’s essentially reaching out and giving every Australian in the country a rough jostle. Regardless of who they are, where they are, or what they’re doing. I wonder how many car crashes and other accidents or incidents this little test has caused

It’s basically impossible to definitively say something is A.I. or not anymore. I like doing this kind of detective work though so here’s my analysis.

• At first overall glance, it gave me an A.I. generated “vibe” that I can’t fully explain. I know this doesn’t count for much, but it counts for me.
• If you zoom into the pelvis of the guy in the far back, it’s a bit fucked up. It’s like his body is angled to be walking to the right, but his legs are walking to the left. See attached image.
• The reflections on the floor aren’t quite right. The pot plant on the left is especially reflected at a strange angle, given the rest of the reflections. In general it’s like it’s rendered the reflections the way shadows would work.
• At that shallow angle, there should be more reflections of things in the background visible, like the men walking. These are completely missing and it’s just showing an empty sky reflection when there’s even buildings in the way.

I do also have those, but they got bored and lost interest. They do still occasionally get triggered by my username though 😂

Yeah… I like the syntax, but I hate the old jank. Still one of my favourite languages regardless. But definitely your first year will be variations of “why does JavaScript do that” 😂 I damn near quit when I had to do timezone and scheduling stuff with native date objects

I know, but a lot of people don’t click the article, they just look at headline + comments, so it’s still a reduction of visibility or an extra step. My comment is like exposing the endpoint right there front and centre. Plus, I don’t like being personally responsible for any data breach. Maybe it’s just a tiny thing but it felt like the right thing to do

JavaScript is a bit funny and doesn’t actually have native integers… every number is a floating point, which means even whole number math gets weird sometimes. Not often, but enough that cents were lost and people were upset.

I haven’t looked at how Dinero works under the hood, but I never had any problems at all with it after we started using it. Front end works in cents, back end works in decimal, is what I’d suggest for anyone else reading this. Statically typed languages are much easier to control and you don’t need a library at all if you’re careful.

Maybe I should remove that from my comment lol, I feel like I’m contributing to a data breach or something
