In my country, the central bank is creating inflation through its policies. That’s a common function of the central banks. (Who controls all these central banks ?)
Considering the fact that we’re already paying the taxes through the form of inflation, why should the government tax us on top of that ?
Labor isn’t stuff? We can get pedantic and say that the government isn’t doing the labor, government-hired laborers do, but regardless, how much labor gets done depends on how many taxes were collected to pay for it.
The government is there just to tax the people. Society would still exist without any government.
I mean, you can make a case for that being the truth at the moment, but obviously we didn’t create the concept of a government just to be taxed. Even when we were in small tribes we likely looked to a leader to organize hunts and make sure everyone got food even if they were in charge of other duties. It gets corrupted like any other form of power eventually does, but it’s still useful when it’s working.
Ultimately it’s probably best if we get all-new governments every few decades just to flush out the corruption, but I imagine even that will be corrupted eventually. At the end of the day we need both a system in place to ensure fairness and equality for those who can’t fight for it themselves, as well as the strength to destroy that system when it inevitably turns evil.

That’s great! Anything that brings attention to the failures of the current corrupt governments, especially in young people, is a step in the right direction! We can’t put good systems into place until we dismantle the rotten ones.

Did you really think the US military is funded through taxes? No. That’s a liberal myth. The US government invents the money and simply hands it to the military-industrial complex. All that luxurious funding used to slaughter brown people all over the world doesn’t cause inflation because of your taxes. You can see this perfectly clearly in (supposedly) “socialist” states in Europe - the Danish government decides to spend more on healthcare and adjusts the taxes to prevent inflation… which Danish people are happy to pay, of course, because they get something out of it (surprisingly, slaughtering brown people all over the world doesn’t seem to get USians anything)
Okay, so a place like the US takes trillions of dollars in taxes, deletes it from the economy, then invents trillions of different dollars and hands it to the military-industrial complex. Either way, trillions are coming out of one place and trillions are going to another. Doesn’t really change much.

Bud, I was already humoring your ideas. I got enough of this from my conspiracy theory mom before she died trying to follow scam medical treatments that the government had supposedly been keeping from us. I’m not about to get into what’s being hidden from me again.
I don’t trust the government to tell the truth at all, but that doesn’t mean I trust anyone else to know the truth that the government is supposedly spending billions to keep from me, either. You want to tell me taxes aren’t used for what I think they’re used for? Sure, I can believe that. You want to tell me that you know what the are used for? That you of all people have the billion dollar secret? I trust that even less than what the government tells me they’re used for.
I’d rather tear it all down and build the tax system the way it’s supposed to work than figure out all the intricacies of how it’s being manipulated right now.

Don’t trust the government, and also don’t trust anyone who says they know what the government is doing unless they can back it up with real credentials. You don’t need to pretend to be in the know, it’s okay; we can kill a dictator without trading conspiracy theories about what their real grand scheme is. It doesn’t matter how the system is broken if the only way to fix it is to throw it away and get a new one.
