Last week, I participated in a contest called PDX Squared! I was randomly assigned a square quarter mile of Portland, along with 99 other photographers given their own squares, with five wild squares interspersed throughout! With 21 hours of shooting time, we were to submit five images for seven different categories, and the judges would very quickly judge through all five hundred images live.

Needless to say, I crashed and burned, but I still like the work I put forth!

The last picture I submitted is omitted since it contains and is focused on a readily-identifiable license plate and I don’t wanna get in trouble, so I’m adding a second-choice pick instead.

    Nice work, turtle!!

    Beautiful flicker in #1, and #2 & #3 are great examples of what an unexpected art photography can be. Truly, this is the kind of stuff that makes me really happy I joined this sublemmy. 😊

        That’s one animal friend I was never able to entertain, altho of course limiting it to just an aquatic / terrarium situation would not really have been very nice, in the end.

            Oh my, that’s quite sweet, and from my experience vibes nicely with Portland. (foof, it’s been like 25yrs since I’ve been there, according to grandpa Johnny)

            Since then, that anatomy of a turtle meme has become a basis of important philosophy for both her and I, and we’d just shout it out: strong shell! feets for marching! cute tail bump! adorable smile! maroooos are amazing.

            Okay, but what the heck is a “maroooo?”

            In any case, I find you quite a good writer, so I hope I happen to see more of your stuff across our beloved Fediverse, as the days turn in to weeks, and the weeks fuel eternity. 🙂
