If Harris was a leader she would be out there touring like AOC. Shes not a leader. She had her shot to prove otherwise and didn’t.

I can’t imagine thinking about “serving people” when majority of them turned out to be hateful idiots that frankly deserve getting their faces eaten by a leopard. Let her catch a break maybe?

Usual: If you voted 3rd party or didn’t vote, you signed off on our current reality.

But you’re not wrong, and I have plenty to disagree with AOC about, but they’re all conversations for a better time; done and done.

Is this wise? As an outside observer I had the impression that Harris lost in part because of systematic, subtle and overt racism and sexism. All this applies to AOC, too. Do the Democrats want to lose? Don’t they have some sort of JFK look-alike, people actually want to vote? It’s not as if appearance wasn’t way more important in the US than things like the actual political agenda.

Yeah okay pack it in boys, we’re screwed lol.

Why even bother to run a primary at this point? Just let the DNC select their candidate so we can skip out on the 6 months of sham and shilling.

    spoiler

Also told all yall we need progressives to split from DNC and form a fresh 3rd party bruh.

This is a recipe to ensure Republicans fully sweep every election and progressives are ignored even more than they already are. American politics are so incredibly broken, but isolating yourself by breaking off into a party that has 0 chance of ever winning anything isn’t going to fix anything.

Well if the DNC doesn’t want to win and get Trump out, they don’t have to run a candidate. If they want to split the vote from an engaged voter base wanting something new to kick out the fascist, that’s on them.

It’s why suddenly the “How DARE Sanders allegedly say that Warren might have a hard time because she’s a woman” wing of the party is now like “Women can’t win” as soon as a progressive woman is seizing the moment.

They’ve gone into hiding so that way when 2028 rolls around they can pretend they were fighting the entire time, and how this time they need to tip the scales in running a candidate who’s anti abortion and willing to deport as many brown people to sway the mythical non-Trump republicans.

Why does the Democratic party have a hard on for running failed politicians? Kamala lost, let others step up. AOC would do great in the Dem Primaries

So tell me why? Explain it like I’m a 6 yo. What exactly is the appeal of AOC? Someone who once aligned herself with two antisemites? She’s not a Senator, she’s a representative for New York State. Does she have the same appeal as David Hogg? Strike me down and call me a conservatard (I’ve never ever voted Republican) but AOC is a gaffe machine, but somehow it’s on purpose? Can we talk about Ilhan Omar and Rashid Talib? How the fuck did they ever become Representatives for Minnesota and Detroit…yeah I know it’s been a minute, but this is the Democratic Party…how did Leftist get so confused that they felt the need to support right wing religious nuts? You know what I talking about right? You could take your average everyday Muslim and a white supremacist and ask them both how they feel about women/jewish people/gay people and you’d get the same answer. Did AOC support the striking train workers in 2022? The union for the rail workers never really got the deal they wanted. What does AOC stand for exactly? Just the typical Gen Z talking points? “We gotta support drag queens in libraries!” Yeah, I’m an old fuddy duddy who thinks that identity politics is a losing battle, maybe if everyone can get under the umbrella of the idea that billionaires are working to ruin this country? Maybe we can talk about wealth inequality and how no one who is working class can afford anything? Housing prices, rent, basic living income and basic standards for ALL human beings? I love Bernie Sanders, god bless him, but AOC and Bernie spreading whatever message they are is falling on deaf ears, the ears of middle America. I’ll take my beating now

“We can’t run a woman, America doesn’t want one as president!”

“Here’s AOC having some of the biggest rallies in recorded American history, showing people are wanting to follow her lead.”

“…Well she’s also brown, so clearly no one wants to follow her for that too.”

I wonder why they don’t want AOC to run as a popular front runner, but have Harris have a second chance at losing again…

    1. Stop with this shit. It’s 2025. This is stupid.

    2. Women can’t be president in America. We have a shitty culture that prevents that from happening. We keep trying, we keep failing. If you want to win, find another candidate with a dick. That’s a requirement in America. Not saying I like it. Just saying that’s reality.

Actually this is a good chance to prove things. Most would rather vote for a woman than Trump right now. This could be a perfect moment for a woman to get in power and kick some ass.

“People need to vote Democrat to keep the country from further imploding, so we’re gonna make the candidate a woman. That way they’ll HAVE to vote for a woman and we can check that off our list!”

this is a losing strategy, you’re even considering doing it with the same loser from 2024. We lost both 2016 and 2024 by doing this exact same thing. What are you going to tell me next, that the candidate should be Jill Stein?

At least AOC is an actual good candidate, but again: woman. You’ll lose.

As much as I love her, this country has shown time and time again it is unwilling to elect a woman president. It sucks, and I don’t like it, but the Dems need to run a dude.

Edit: good job hivemind, proving you’re still alive and strong considering there’s a top comment saying the exact same thing.

Truthfully I don’t know if the Democrats have anyone that can win back the American people. Newsome is hated by half his own state and all the other states. Buttigieg maybe? Idk.

We really need another Obama or Bill Clinton. Someone charasmatic and well spoken. We just don’t have anyone young or charasmatic in that way that I can think of.

She’s hit and miss for me. When she’s calling people out on their bullshit regardless of party affiliation I am a fan. When she’s marching along with the ancient Democrats and being performative I can’t stand that shit.

I do not think she would do significantly better than Harris did. I think she would be an improvement, but idk if that’s gonna be enough.
