This account is constantly posting this kind of BS that blames progressive voters and leftists for an authoritarian coup.

Non voting lefties contributed so little to trump seizing the whitehouse. The democratic party have much more responsibility for refusing to offer the progressive policies that their base and the majority of the electorate wants.

Also we have a system when dark money and open bribery matter far more than voting. It’s especially ridiculous to blame any voters in a non-democratic system.

Non voters definitionally don’t contribute, that’s like the whole point.

They made a choice and did not choose the option that would minimize the chance of Trump getting elected

For sure, i’m an always-voter so i agree, but that’s an abstract point without any real world impact. If a bunch of lefties in safe dem seats don’t vote, it literally could not make a difference.

Focusing on that as if lefties are part of the reason we have trump is a) simply not true and b) provides cover for the real causes: the rich, their servants in the DNC and our non-democractic electoral system c) redirects ire against the only people with practical, popular alternatives to fascism.

The real criticism is not against non-voters it’s against people on the internet trying to sow cynicism in order to reduce turnout among those who might otherwise support a progressive cause.

I am directly making fun of the “BlooMAJA, both sides same, electorism is evil” clowns who provide no realistic alternative. Votes fucking matter, the moneyed class wouldn’t spend so much money influencing them if they did not.

Antivoting chucklefucks are absolutely complicit in what’s happening right now, I will not absolve them while they’re indistinguishable from Republicans with “don’t vote for Democrats” rhetoric. This is a knife fight to decide if the most powerful country in the world becomes out and out fascist, so I have nothing but contempt for jackasses who won’t get on fucking board, or get out of the fucking way.

interesting how you start being divisive in the way that makes your side look as offputting as possible every time there’s an election

This is a knife fight to decide if the most powerful country in the world becomes out and out fascist

it already was, you just want your preferred style of fascists running things

so I have nothing but contempt for jackasses who won’t get on fucking board, or get out of the fucking way.

feelings mutual, i have nothing but contempt for people who can only browbeat

Do you think the leftists that refused to vote hold that much sway in a general election? Are they that big of a group, are they that influential for the Democratic party?

If yes, then the Democratic party really should have given them some more of the platform to encourage them to actually vote. If not, then it was the Democratic party’s strategy that failed to get more votes than Trump of all people.

dawg the democrats spent decades failing to codify any protections when they had the power to do so.

i’ve had comrades get arrested by democrats for protesting them medically abandoning trans kids. democrats would rather comply with republicans and trump on this than rock the boat.

If you’re were actually concerned you’d be directing scorn at the sources of the problem: the democratic party that refuses to fight fascism, not the electorally insignificant number of lefties who fight against fascism but didn’t vote.

Lies like yours distort people’s perception of what the problem is, making unified opposition to this fascist coup harder.

It’s pretty ridiculous to suggest that someone who doesn’t even bother to put in the effort to vote is seriously fighting fascism

That’s like saying no-one could be fighting climate change if they’ve ever thrown away a bottle instead of recycling it.

Voting for someone who takes money from the same corporate donors who fund fascism can have some but only very minimal impact on fascism. I still do it, but i won’t fault people who focus on organising, mutual aid, direct action and other activities that directly fight fascism.

Voting every few years is not demanding perfection as you imply. It is a very simple, somewhat impactful action that in terms of effect per unit of effort almost certainly beats any form of education or organization.

I’m not implying that. I always hold my nose and vote for the least bad option. I’m just under no illusions about the mininal impact of voting in an oligarchic system.

Change comes from organizing: educating, joining with others, activism. Without that, change will never be offered at the ballot.

            It’s not ridiculous at all.

If you’re serious about fighting fascism you’ll likely catch some charges and be unable to vote.
