    The expert have made so many grand pronouncements since the launch of ChatGPT almost four years ago. And they over-promised again and again. They kept saying that the next generation of bots would fix everything—but instead the embarrassments and failures continued, only on a larger scale.

    This needs qualification.

    Most in the machine learning space thought Altman was an idiot, or possibly a sociopath, before the public even heard the world “LLM.” TSMC allegedly calling him a “podcast bro” was perfect.

    “Experts” never said any such thing.

    What was heard were a few old guys with Nobel syndrome or some misunderstanding, but mostly a whole lot of scam peddlers on TV as “experts.”

    The ML research community never wanted any of this hype. They actively warned against it. These models were not ready for people to use, but OpenAI peddled them anyway.

    I didn’t read far enough into it to see any “anti ai” language because his first premise betrays that he doesn’t actually understand how dumb the LLMs are
