While we’re at it, should we also send the gun manufacturer CEO to prison when someone kills themself with a gun? The drug manufacturer CEO when someone intentionally ODs in a medicine?

What if someone takes poison meant for rats, should that CEO go to prison too?

Why would we hold someone responsible for someone else’s actions? I don’t think these people are good people, but maybe we should be realistic about who is to blame here.

Guns, in the most literal sense, have no ability to vocalize to a suicidal teenager that the world would be a better place without them and give them advice on their noose tying skills.

These literally aren’t even in the same ballpark.

The intent is to provide workers with a sense of pride and accomplishment for increasing stakeholder value.

As for hours, we selected initial values based upon data from the free market and other adjustments made to milestone rewards before hiring. Among other things, we’re looking at average per-worker income earn rates on a daily basis, and we’ll be making constant adjustments to ensure that workers have challenges that are compelling, rewarding, and of course attainable via employment.

We appreciate the candid feedback, and the passion the community has put forth around the current topics here on Lemmy, our forums and across numerous social media outlets.

Our team will continue to make changes and monitor community feedback and update everyone as soon and as often as we can.

Hey, quick question: will Work™ eventually include the healthcare, housing, and free time to enjoy life benefits that we’ve all been hearing so much about?

Yeah I end up learning new things a lot of the time, not something that work always gives me. Mean sometimes depends on the programming issue. As much as I love learning new programming stuff it’s fun is also learn about other hobbies or random other things. For examples I’ve done calculus courses because I never understood it well, still there but I tried basic first year university again. Also blender for 3d art, not an artist but thought it’d be neat. It was. Even plain programming learning unity and new frameworks that I’d never use at work (Maui was one) to see how they were.

Then there’s music, drone flying (way more fun with full control drones I am still figuring out the sims though) as other things. I want to keep busy but I definitely don’t want to keep working at the code my work has me do, ugh visual basic for starters.

So he can go screw himself if that’s how he thinks people want to spend their time vs what they could spend time on. Talk about privileged.

Hail St. Luigi, full of righteousness. May your wrath descend upon this CEO that he may feel the pain he has caused in his due turn. Amen.

This is not talked about enough! How deeply sad and disturbed hobbyless individuals ascend to positions of power and make everyone’s lives worse from there.

I don’t know about you guys, but plenty of people are workaholic because it distracts them from their own lives outside of work. I’m not judging those who do this, but that’s the baseline from which oligarchs use to justify their desire for control of humanity

From what I’ve seen it’s about 1/20 people. Not sure I’d call that plenty of people, but it is a vocal minority

I enjoy being busy…doing the things that I want to do, not the things that i have to do to earn income. What an asshole.

For these fucks “work” is golfing or being driven from one speech to another while having their every desire fulfilled, so, so of course they don’t consider work to be something unenjoyable and are shocked that anyone feels differently
