But in this case, I was banned 500+ times from one community I’ve never heard of.
According to another comment, the mod banned then unbanned me 500 times.

Which is really weird, because as far as I know, I’ve never even interacted with them.
I also didn’t get any notifications that I’d been banned. I just happened to be looking through lemmy.world’s modlog.
Goes to show there are some really strange people out there who will get upset at you for seemingly no reason.

Here’s the thing, by mocking said racist stereotypes, he’s still also perpetuating them and giving cover for genuine racists. Here’s an article about ironic racism, also known as hipster racism:
You have the same thing with sexism:
Of course, neither sexism or racism have been eradicated. Far from it. In fact the far right have used the irony defence to mainstream racist and fascist ideology:
For example, the reddit community /r/TheDonald, was originally an ironic sub. But a lot of people didn’t get the joke. So much so that before it was banned, it became the biggest pro-Trump community online, and helped get Trump elected.
Similarly, Ricky Gervais also makes similar claims to being ironic when he makes transphobic jokes, but doesn’t seem to mind his rise in popularity with the far right one bit.
TLDR: it is possible to understand Ali G is satirical, and still be critical of the character normalising racist stereotypes and giving genuine racists cover.
e: made some cuts for brevity.

No idea. But apparently you can ban someone over 500 times without them noticing.

Noam Chomsky did not get Epstein either.

Is that why you can’t see their username?
It’d be pretty sad if something I said sent them into such a rage that they banned me 500 times, deleted their own account, and I didn’t even notice until two weeks later.

First they came for the trans people, and I said nothing because I was not trans…
A man is driving through County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, when he finds the road is blocked by a tree. Before he knows what’s happening, masked men have shoved a gun in his face and signal to lower the window.
Just like in Northern Ireland, a lot of these people aren’t actually particularly religious. That should be obvious by their behaviour and the behaviour of the leaders they support. They don’t actually believe in the tenants of the New Testament. They are using Christianity and the bible as a signifier of sectarian and ethnic allegiance.
What you’re witnessing in the US, is in large part not religious fundamentalism. It is ethnic sectarianism.
It’s fundamentally no different to Northern Ireland or the Balkans. The Butcher of the Bosnia identified himself as Serbian Orthodox, and claimed to be defending Christian Serbia from Muslims. He had been a loyal communist for decades before that, and as far as I know wasn’t particularly religious at all.
TLDR: good luck America. And perhaps consider voting this time round.

It’s/its is also common mistake with non-native speakers.
The really obvious one is using of instead of instead of have. Would of. Should of. Could of. From would’ve, should’ve, could’ve. Non-native speakers will rarely if ever make that mistake.

They’ll still vote republican in any and all coming elections.
What is it with farmers? Not just a US thing either. Eg. English farmers and brexit.

Get a cheap paid VPN subscription, cancel any and all streaming services, don’t buy any media or books, pirate anything you like. Books, audiobooks, movies, tv shows, everything. I recommend Qbit torrent, bind to vpn, piracy community is in the sidebar for suggested websites. Use ublock origin.
Much much cheaper than not having a VPN.
Hell, if you want to save money get Mullvad for a month (like you just did) and torrent as much as possible. Then cancel until you need it again. $5 for potentially $10000 dollars worth of content. No brainer.

Hope the Russian fascist regime doesn’t decide to take a gamble and test NATO.
The last time the CIA chief visited Moscow was shortly before the 2022 invasion of Ukraine. Not great that he’s just visited again.
I know Europe’s weak and divided, but Russia taking yet another stupid gamble will backfire. I worry that it will also spark a dangerous nationalist backlash. Europe, nationalism and militarism aren’t a great combo.
On the other hand, according to some climate estimates European cities might face maximum temperatures of 50 (120F) by 2050. So maybe a nuclear winter is for the best.

Cunts are still running the world.

Very annoying.
And they take up almost no space, so that makes it even more annoying. I make sure to keep seeding as much as possible.

I think I have that among my torrents. 33 seeders.
Maybe you’re still seeding a torrent that’s no longer as popular.

Is this a sex thing?
You’re not wrong. Hell, a few weeks ago I was banned 500 times by some weirdo, I now suspect because I interacted with you or maybe upvoted one of your comments.
But I hope you’re aware that you may be suffering from CPTSD related hyper vigilance. CPTSD because of all the (ongoing) trauma you face because you’re enby, hyper vigilance because you are now constantly aware of threats.
It’s a perfectly understandable reaction, but it can be very exhausting. Having to carry a knife to a supermarket or be prepared for an attacker while taking a shit, isn’t a fun way to live.
I hope you have been able to create a sanctuary where you can feel safe. I hope you’re also able to get the help you need coping with it. My CPTSD is caused by other things, but for example I find grounding exercises and keeping a gratitude journal useful. Doesn’t change the cause of my CPTSD, but has helped me cope.
So to be clear, I am absolutely not saying that the threats you face aren’t real, but suggesting you take care of yourself because you can’t be hyper vigilant all the time without it negatively impacting you.
TLDR: take care of yourself and an internet hug.
