  • I understand where you’re coming from but I think there is an atmosphere tinging the conversation (and there are a lot of threads happening so maybe I’m the one doing that, not trying to be perfect here)

I’m not bitching about voters. I’m saying people are blaming Democrats, or Harris, or whoever they want to, but one side showed up with more people. I see you are continuing that as well by saying she ignored her own base.

More people showed up for what Trump was selling. Harris was certainly not ignoring her base in favor of the Cheneys but I think you mean they relatively to your expectations (?).

If she were leaning more right, then I guess that was the correct choice because that’s who showed up to vote.

  • Saying she ran an awful campaign is a judgement, one neither of us qualified to make legitimately (correct me if I’m wrong and you have some relevant professional experience)

The voters spoke and said they did not see enough of a difference between Harris and Trump to vote for Harris, and the ones that saw a difference voted for Trump.

Harris was out there making her platform and politics known, performing at debates.

  • To add to what the other person said, the biggest enemy of the boring party that wants to make the country better and isn’t making up ridiculous claims is apathy. (Not truly just apathy, but also people have lives to lead and it’s not like they get the day off, and voting isn’t the center of their life)

Mostly just look at the polling numbers after Harris was announced and how they have slowly fallen since then. There may be other reasons of course, but I find it hard to believe that people who supported Harris ever have any less support for her on a topic when comparing her to Trump.
