In whatever country, whatever most controversial political option there would be the one kids pick.
It’s wild that communism is more controversial in America than fascism.
It’s because a large portion of the population has been convinced that communism is fascism and that fascism is capitalism and that capitalism is the one true economic system ordained by God himself, and daring to think otherwise is communism.
'Round here we only worship our Lord and savior, Supply Side Jesus.
Left side Jesus worshiper here. I was born a snake handler and I’ll die

edit: i didn’t realize when i made this gif i made it left side and supply side because i was in the middle of a noncooperative barbecue/smoke. freudian mother, huh?
Communism was the system used* by the US’s primary geopolitical opponent for generations as well as its current economic rival. Meanwhile fascism is/was considered a long-dead ideology by most (American education doesn’t really focus on things like Francoist Spain), even while support for it among the capitalist elite has been quietly simmering in the background since the 1930s if not earlier.
*Nominally, but let’s not get into that.
I’ve seen this reposted so many times, but it’s still pretty good.

Well of course it’s only real genocide when done by a socialist country. Under capitalism, it’s just sparkling ethnic cleansing.
