See, here’s the thing. Someone blasts out a diarrhea through a velvet chair with the center removed and now a large portion of the cloth of that chair is covered in shit.

Like, this has carpeted kitchen/bathroom energy, but way worse.

The rich had that shit, and didn’t clean it themselves

The rest shat in a pot then threw the poo out their window targeting the even more poor

It’s not like the romans had those huge toilets in every tiny town though

Yep, they used to have to travel 20-30 miles just to take a dump. That’s why they had such good roads.

Do you think the Roman’s went under the berries or from behind with the communal anus sponge?

I bet they had lengthy debates about the right way to do it.

I believe it’s debated more whether that was for wiping or just cleaning the toilet area after use. Most these days think they splashed water up there with their hands as many do today.

Wiping remains the mainstream majority view, and the idea that it would be used for cleaning the toilet is very much a minority view.

You really should watch the Japanese movie “Thermae Romae”.

I assume the norse one is basically an outhouse, but how did the Greek one worked? it looks to solidly built to be a functional outhouse (you have)

Waste drops in. Someone up the plumbing system diverts water through the piping, likely at set times, and washes it down the piping system, likely to a river or a cesspit. Like a primitive version of a flush system!

Hah, as I said to another commenter - all things are relative. A u-bend-piped user-operated per-use system with sitting water is a bit more advanced. XD
