I looked up their chart history because I wanted to follow this comment up with something like “yeah but they followed it up with Good Times Roll” or something because I was sure that would be the case, but TIL that The Cars never had a #1 hit record, period. Not singles, not albums, nothing. Hell they didn’t even crack the top 10 until Shake It Up in 1981!

Staying power indeed.
