Some of Donald Trump’s allies are assembling proposals to curtail the Justice Department’s independence and turn the nation’s top law enforcement body into an attack dog for conservative causes, nine people involved in the effort told Reuters.

Ahh… another, “You better vote for Genocide Joe. If you don’t, Genocide Donald is gonna eat ya!” article.

First: flood the Justice Department with stalwart conservatives unlikely to say “no” to controversial orders from the White House. Second: restructure the department so key decisions are concentrated in the hands of administration loyalists rather than career bureaucrats.

So basically do what any President already does.

Overhauling the Justice Department would allow the Trump administration to pursue conservative policy initiatives such as dismantling hiring programs meant to boost diversity in the workplace and ending federal oversight of police departments accused of racist practices.

So… the only change would be that the employee base would disappear if they were standing in front of a white wall. Its not like there’s much the DoJ seems to be able to do to keep the police in check with their “oversight”.

The general counsel provides legal advice to FBI employees regarding ongoing probes and other matters. Closing it would force the bureau to receive legal guidance from people closer to Trump’s attorney general in the chain-of-command and limit the FBI’s ability to conduct investigations without close political oversight, according to several Trump supporters and legal professionals with knowledge of the department’s workings.

Or the FBI agents will just decide they don’t have to ask anybody permission and act freely.

So when the republican christofascist dictatorship comes, at least you will have a clean conscience, knowing you didn’t vote for preserving satus quo, shitty as it may be. Good for you!

I hope, if you can’t find it in yourself to put a ballot in the urn for the lesser evil, that you can put a bullet in the head of the greater.

Genocide is not a lesser evil, it is the greatest possible evil. It is a moral event horizon, and you will not succeed in your efforts to convince principled communists to damn themselves to hell alongside you.

You’re not really engaging seriously here, but “if voting doesn’t work, what is to be done?” is actually the first (and too often last) political thought most people have outside of our mostly useless sham democracy. And you’re right that fascists deserve to be shot (though you aren’t yet asking why Democrats’ don’t seem to believe that), so it’s understandable your thoughts would go straight to shooting them.

What you’re missing is that this whole conversation has happened countless times before, to the point where there’s an established name for “well why don’t you just go shoot the bad guy?”: adventurism. A bunch of anarchists tried it against high-level state actors 100+ years ago and it accomplished nothing of note, and the consensus among communists is that it’s a bad strategy. It lacks “stable or serious principles, programme, tactics, organisation, and… roots among the masses,” so it doesn’t develop into any systemic change (and makes your organization vulnerable to bad actors). Turns out you can’t take a shortcut around building a mass movement.

Building that movement is the logical conclusion you’re looking for, not random outbursts of violence.

Make it way worse quicker, so more people become friendly to the revolution.

Why would people join a movement that is making things worse right now? Why would you want to race towards increased state repression when your movement is small? Accelerationism isn’t a good idea in this situation, and it’s hard to think of a successful leftist movement that employed it ever.

The reason democrats don’t like shooting fascists is because they are have bought their own lies about the current system working

Agreed. I’d say this makes Democrats useless at best (at least with respect to the “uh so what about all this fascism we have going?” question) and enablers at worst.

The christofascist dictatorship is here, you’re the one enabling it by describing it as “status quo”.

Name one thing Biden meaningfully did to oppose any of trumps shitty policies. Why would it be any different next time around.

Name one thing he did that was worse than what the republicans have done? Voting for Biden this fall doesn’t means you have to agree with him. You simply have to agree that having Trump win would be worse. This is like the trolley problem - you’re fucked either way but you can decide how fucked you prefer being.

Biden ended pandemic protections while there’s still a pandemic.

Biden gave more money to police than trump.

Biden has gotten us involved in a genocide and a proxy war, and is handling them both just about as poorly as you can.

Biden is building more border wall than trump, and the kids are still in cages.

Biden is cracking down on protests.

Everything costs.more due to bad economic policy and his mishandling of the pandemic when he got.elected.

I could.go on, but I’m sure this will all be dismissed, and I will be assured Biden is just a smol bean who can’t do anything, but here’s a list of all the reasons he’s somehow the most effective president…

Or let me guess. Trump is worse

I won’t disagree with anything as it obviously happened other than this. The economic downturn was much more complicated than just Biden. The world is suffering in a very similar way.

The main reason people hate Biden is because people like you keep insisting how great he is, and then when people list their very real complaints you have annexcuse for FUCKING EVERYTHING.

And it happened last time too.

Biden puts out campaign adds showing a signed $2000 check and runs on it as a stimulus check, gets elected, sends everybody $1400 and then lectures everybody who correctly says “Hey what the fuck” by telling them he never said that, you’re an idiot if you thought he did, and you should be really grateful to him.

Take that exact approach, lying, lecturing, and co descending and apply it to literally every issue.

That’s why hisnpoll numbers are shot, nobody believes a word he says because they’re they’re exact same fuxking lies he told 4 years ago, we voted for him, nothing got better and a lot of stuff got worse and the people advocating for him still simultaneously lecture you for saying he isn’t doing anything and have a long winded excuse for why he can’t do anything.

The reason people hate Biden is because I recognize nuance is required to understand complex things like the economy? How does that even make sense?

Hate him for the things you listed. The reason people hate people like you is because you make things personal when there’s no reason to or any logic behind it.

I didn’t make an excuse for everything I barely even excused one thing let alone espoused how “great” he is, because he isn’t.

                    First fucking sentance.

Suggest if you don’t support Biden it’s because you don’t understand things.

Third sentance dismisses all my criticisms as “non logical”

Do you not realize how much of a condescending piece of shit you sound like.

Also I notice you still haven’t been able to point to one fucking thing he’s done to actually oppose any of the bad shit he’s supposed to be the only one capable of stopping.

That’s the big thing, 4 comments later you still haven’t been able to name one good thing he’s done but you’ve managed to still lecture and condescend in every one.

“Fuck you you dumb asshole vote for me, no I expressly will not do anything you want and you’re an idiot if you think I even could do them”

That message worked great in 2016, I can’t wait for you to get the exact results you deserve.

So to answer my original question no you literally can’t name a single thing they’re doing to oppose republicans but we have to vote for them to oppose republicans thank you for making my point crystal clear.

Name one thing he did that was worse than what the republicans have done?

Lmao OK sure here’s just the stuff from the last couple months

Suggesting eliminating the asylum program and completely closing the border to refugees

We’re currently drilling more oil than any country anywhere at anytime in history. Biden has exacerbated that by also putting massive tarrifs of renewable technology from other countries further ensuring were gonna blow by all emissions goals.

Continuing his full throated support of an explicit genocide against Palestinians.

Also yes, voting for so.ebody to elect them president does in fact mean you are endorsing his actions it also means you’re responsible for actions he takes if elected. It’s just you liberals are so deeply unserious you’ve convinced yourself “you don’t have to support him you just have to vote for him” isn’t the dumbest fucking thing you could try to say

Yes he is a conservative and will crush all attempts to end capitalism, but you have to admit one party is clearly more zealous about ending democracy than the other.

one party is clearly more zealous about ending democracy than the other.

You don’t get it. Bourgeois democracy is a sham. It has never served working people the way they tell you it has. “One party is clearly” blah blah blah. No. Both parties are playing one of the two roles of the “good cop/bad cop” routine. That’s all this is! It can be true that one side can cause more damage while in power than the other side, but at this point, it’s just batty (and wrong) to think that the side with the blue donkey logo is going to do less harm. Even if we forget that it’s the latter side currently funding and helping orchestrate a fucking genocide, it only ramped up and made worse all the terrible policies implemented when the red elephant had ostensible control. Don’t fall for it. Both “sides” (aka both cops) only want to fuck you over and they’re doing it as a collaborative effort. Voting for either of them only sends the message that you have indeed fallen for the act and that you’ll keep supporting them as long as they keep up that act, which of course they will. If you feel that voting serves a purpose, or that it can be still be used for good, then vote for someone who actually shares your ideals, which neither fascist cop does.
