Would you trust a 79 year old to drive ? I wouldn’t, and especially not trust them for any important role either. Retirement age is 65.

My dad drove until he was 88. He was an excellent driver and never had any tickets or caused any problems for others.

My mom quit driving in her early 80s because she didn’t like driving and could afford to take Lyft when she needed to go somewhere.

So I’d say it depends on the person. Having said that, I’m all in favor of more frequent testing for older drivers. When things go wrong, they can go wrong quickly. And I wouldn’t trust Trump to know how to operate a paper bag, let alone a car.
