I think I’ll go with my most recently started one. I’m learning how to carve signature chops. But I’m going old school: hyper-sharp chisels to carve recalcitrant rock with complex old-school Chinese characters. Most people doing chops these days use those high speed hand drill thingies. (“Dremel”? Can’t remember the name.)
What do you secretly like that other people generally dislike?
I really love when it starts to get darker in the mornings before the time change. So many people complain to me about it but i love greeting the waning moon and watching the sky just start to lighten on my way to work. This morning, the crescent was Chesire catting with a single star hanging at the tip🥰
What’s your favorite way to spend an autumn evening?
Do you have any dietary requirements?
Aside from being lightly lactose intolerant and for some reason extremely intolerant at a GI level of blood products, no. The only dietary requirement I have is that the food tastes good.
Who cut your hair, Ma’am?
My local hairdresser he’s very good! Do you wear much make up?
I don’t wear makeup at all usually. For special occasions I’ll do some very light touch-ups: lipstick, mascara, and eye shadow usually.
What can you usually not abide in a person on first meeting them?
Someone who interrupts! Can’t stand that. Also, someone who’s aggressively negative or likes to look down on everything.

My favourite season is spring because that’s when all the things I love come back. Tea plants. Plum blossoms. Green leaves and many flowers.

Do you like tech or not?
I love spring too! Lifts me right out of the winter blues :)
I used to love tech, but I’ve fallen out of love with it. It used to be exciting and fun, but it’s all gotten so enshittified over the years. Plus, consumer electronics used to have exciting new features - every time you got a new phone it was a huge level up from the old one. Now it’s stabilized, and new phones are a slightly improved iteration of the old one. (Or slightly worsened, still salty about losing headphone jacks!)

No, I love the dark. Strange thing about me, when I’m stressed I seek out small dark spaces, usually inside a closet because there are no windows. I don’t know why but I’ve always been like that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
What’s one luxury you’d love to have but would probably never buy even if you could afford it?

It’s all fantasy, though, because I’ll never even get past the basics of learning how to play one. But they’re absolutely beautiful. And really expensive if you want a good one.

Cleaning cast iron pans. What is your favorite sea animal?
Cleaning the basement gym - specifically the floor. I bought horse stall mats to go under the equipment and they’re great as flooring but they’re a bitch to clean.

What country would you love to visit?
Japan! It looks so beautiful :) And also England because I’m a huge Beatles fan and would love to do all the Beatles-related tourist nonsense haha
What’s your favorite way to treat yourself?
I’ve always wanted to go Japan! And Liverpool is pretty cool.
Favourite way is a brownie from the expensive cake shop and a coffee while watching telly. What’s your favourite sitcom?
Barney Miller or All in the Family. Straight 50/50 split between those two.
German or French cuisine?
“Hot dry noodles”. A Wuhan delicacy. Alkaline noodles (so not spaghetti!) in a sauce made with Shanxi vinegar, light soy, dark soy, chicken broth, and sesame paste. Garnished with chives and/or coriander and/or assorted chopped pickles.
What’s your favourite breakfast DRINK?

Tea is my favorite breakfast drink. Mostly prefer green teas, but I haven’t met a tea I don’t like.
