I have more rare seeds on me than i’ve ever had before and in the back of my head I’m thinking 2 things:
- 1, "I’ve never had more than 2 or 3 harvests of RareSeed in a single season
- 2, I think I heard somewhere that you can’t get more than 2 rare seeds in a season because you need the fairy to visit and this only happens once a night from 26-28 of Autumn (Fall)
Does anyone know if this is the case? I’d love to be able to harvest all of these at once in 2 months time
Yes, the rare seed needs the entire Autumn to grow into a Sweet Gem Berry. But that doesn’t mean that you can only plant one rare seed. And instead of just selling or gifting you can put the Sweet Gem Berry into the Seedmaker to get two rare seeds.
Also, you can just put the seed in the Greenhouse so you can harvest each season Sweet Gem Berries :)
I’ll be using the greenhouse then, makes things a bit simpler.

Worth noting there’s a small chance (~2% and 0.5% according to the wiki) to get mixed seeds or ancient seeds instead of the input plant.
I’m not usually one for save scumming, but bet I’m alt+F4’ing if one of my precious few rare seeds ends up as mixed seeds.
I recommend checking the wiki for info like this generally.
That said: they take 24 days and only grow in fall, so outside of a greenhouse it’d be almost impossible. The wiki indicates you could get 2 harvests though if you use hyper speed-gro and have the level 10 agriculturalist perk (which tbh I think is generally the weaker choice).
