    Huh. Who could have predicted this? If you vilify an entire ethnic group for the better part of a decade, blaming it for everything up to and including sunspots, the people of that ethnic group will start to think they’re unwelcome and move away.

    There was absolutely no way to have predicted this.

        (This is a form of comedic writing called “hyperbole”. They didn’t actually get accused of causing sunspots. It’s just an exaggeration of how they get blamed for everything, like apparently how Brazilian farmers are “coerced” by China into buying cheaper, higher-quality, not-locked-down tractors instead of American rent-seeking pieces of shit like John Deere.)

          Ah. Well, we’ve gotten to the point where I’m no longer able to discern the difference between reality and satire. I really wouldn’t have been surprised if our current administration had made that accusation. Disappointed? I guess, but it would have been par for the course at this point.

            I know, right? We’ve reached the point where I can’t tell the difference between reality and The Beaverton. Like which of these are satire?

            • Carney hoping Canadians too busy applying for jobs to notice skyrocketing unemployment numbers
            • Carney cancels invite for Project 2025 mastermind, wants fascist takeover of Canada to be more of a surprise
            • SNL casts Canadian provided she can evade ICE at border
            • Employee appreciation lunch features cheapest food possible
            • Mark Carney celebrates Labour Day by ordering labourers back to work

            Any one of those could be mistaken for reality these days.
