    That’s a modern plane (and she wouldn’t wear that top in the 40s).

      I believe it’s an Ercoupe, and that style was known in the 1940s

      The aircraft tail in the background indicates that specific plane was manufactured in '47, and crashed in 1950, so the picture had to be taken in the summer of 48, 49, or 50.

      In fairness to you, small aircraft general designs haven’t changed much over the decades, and I was also surprised to see that style of top before the 1960s.
