I’ve started up DS3 again after a 1-2-year break and am having lots of fun. Just defeated Oceiros after defeating all three lords and Dancer of the Boreal Valley and am looking forward to seeing what’s next.

I’m having a really fun time in my first ng+ of Elden Ring. I’ve already played two separate characters through base game and DLC. My second character who’s a melee forward spell blade.

You can really take it easy and go into situations in a more relaxed way. At least that’s how it’s been for me.

Your posts about DS3 inspired me to do a new run since it’s been a while.

I started with the thief class and have only used the bandit knife. It’s not a bad weapon, but the range is abysmal and is teaching me to play a little differently. Besides that I’m around level 70 and have been using the Grass Crest shield. My rings are Prisoner’s Chain/Chloranthy/RFAP/Havel’s.

I cleared all the mid and late game bosses yesterday, only NK and SoC left from the base game. Not decided yet if I’m going to do the DLCs with this build because of the knife range. Might switch over to a large club and give them a spank, though.

Awesome, glad I could be of inspiration :) Enjoy your time!

And how far am I from the bosses you mention, knowing my last progress? Don’t know the abbreviations - just curious where I’m at :)

I think you are two bosses behind where I’m at. Slight spoilers regarding who they are:

        DS3 late game bosses

The two I don’t think you have faced yet:

        Dragonslayer Armour

        Prince Lothric

NK = Nameless King, completely optional and very unlikely you’ll find him if playing blind. I suggest looking up how to reach him before you fight SoC.

SoC = Soul of Cinder. Keep playing, you can’t miss him.

Also not sure if you faced Champion Gundyr yet. He’s optional and a little hidden, but his soul transposes into a good ring (one that I mentioned using).

Update: First-tried the Dragonslayer Armor and killed Lothric too. Took me less than ten attempts for Lothric, but it was a really fun fight - relatively straightforward but probably my favourite one in the game thus far. Just arrived at the Kiln - looking forward to what’s next.

Haven’t seen Gundir² yet, no. What’s up with the DLC? What would I need to do to get there before finishing the game by accident? Unless you recommend going through vanilla first on NG and then playing the DLCs in NG+

Lothric is a very fun fight, one of my faves too.

Gundyr is hidden, but worth looking up how to find him at any point in the late game, imo.

As for DLCs you can go into Ashes of Ariandel as soon as you reach the Cleansing Chapel. Talk to the NPC who is praying next to the bonfire. I recommend doing this DLC first before Ringed City.

Ringed City has two ways to access, either from one of the boss arenas in Ashes of Ariandel after you beat them, or from the final boss area of the base game (there is a bonfire off to the side which will prompt to travel to Dreg Heap).

Unlike DS1, DS3 does not immediately force you into NG+ so you can beat the final boss and still clean-up post game and visit the DLCs. You can go to NG+ from the Firelink Shrine bonfire whenever you want to. In my opinion the preferred order to play the end game in is 1) Ashes of Ariandel, 2) Soul of Cinder, 3) Ringed City. Ringed City is a step above everything else you’ve encountered therefore makes for the best post-game area.

I am trying to remember which game it was that had an outfit that would be perfect for cosplaying as Pit from Kid Icarus because I want to just do a bow run and I need to do it in the one with the proper drip for it.

I thought it was Elden Ring but it isn’t. :/

A bit late to the game, but I ended up playing Lies of P. Reached the final boss fight late last night, got stomped and went to bed. So now I am sitting and waiting for my workday to be through ….

The true final boss or the “final” boss? Either are a pain, really

I expect that it is the final boss. Simon Manus. But I won’t rule out that there could be another one - perhaps Geppetto is showing up ?

Depending on your choices throughout the game, there is another boss after that that you can fight.

Manus can be the last, though. And I don’t like the fight one bit personally lol. Something about his long, wide sweeping attacks just annoys me.

          Plus the

          spoiler for attacks

entire phase 2 with his magic and stuff just feels a little too spammy and out of the place for the game

lol I totally agree. Personally I don’t find phase one that bad and with the right combo of dodges and parries he becomes manageable. Phase two though, Jesus Christ a shitshow. Dodging punishes you, parrying punishes you and keeping a distance punishes you.

I gave it 40 goes and figured I might as well go grind a bit, to see if I can get some more damage. Because I do absolutely no damage to him, when I finally do get an opening.

Yea sounds like you might be a tad underleveled then. Also no shame in turning the difficulty down if it gets too absurd tho. Helped me with the DLC quite a bit

No, grinding levels already felt like cheating, so no difficulty slider for me please :3 and I see what you mean about the final boss. I knew I would have to take out Geppetto as well somehow!
