I just joined the modding discord server for Need For Speed Heat Unite Mod since I’m enjoying the game, and the first thing I see in the general-chat is unfiltered racism and people saying that the Middle East should be nuked, and that they “breed like rabbits”. They also ran defense for Israel with the classic “but Hamas tho”.

I can’t with g*mers anymore. I’m used to seeing all sorts of right-wing bullshit online, but this one was too much. I then got to see an admin and a random user running defense for this piece of shit that said they own the server and that not only full on admitted to being racist with all the words, but that also said that I should die in a favela and that I should end myself.

I don’t really have much of an online presence because most days I’m too paralyzed by social anxiety to even comment, let alone post much stuff, and honestly, this only makes me feel worse, I feel like shit after that interaction.

Fuck these racist ass zionists.

    Wow. I’m really sorry to hear that. This behavior is not okay, and not indicative of healthy people. I hope you have some techniques to help you analyze the situation and deep down know you’re a good person for not thinking that way. Also a healthy meal, hot shower/bath and proper rest, because these things are more healing than we often realize, and good people don’t deserve being unwell because other people want to spread poison.

      I’ll do that. I didn’t find a report button when leaving it, so I thought there wasn’t an easy way to do that. I also doubt it will result in a ban since there’s way worse shit that discord allows, unfortunately.

    I stick almost exclusively to single player games like Silent Hill, Sekiro, Resident Evil etc. nowadays and avoid the whole online culture entirely, spares me all the brainrot.

    It is but a glimpse into how Zionists actually think. Let’s not lose sleep over this. I don’t know how to effectively counter Zionist and Western propaganda, I only know that the only way to shut them the fuck up is to defeat them in military and economically (they will not shut up even then, but at least they would be ridiculed).

    It’s pretty bad in general, especially online games with the racing and shooter “gamer bros” who would be the main audience of those like Asmon. Avoiding these communities entirely would be best for one’s mental health.

    It can be trying and tiring for sure. Although there are many game fans who you can kinda tell are more so apolitical and just don’t say much on the subject, sometimes the stereotypes about them behaving like adult children are true and some of them have clearly reactionary views. Like I don’t often see the level of racism you described, but I do see a lot of capitalist apologia and general hating on the customer side of things from people who are themselves customers. Stuff like a person complaining about how something works in a game and maybe, god forbid, they even hint at asking for something to be easier. This immediately attracts the jerks who show up to say that “people don’t want to work for things” like they’re Reagan talking about “welfare queens.” The aggression of it never ceases to amaze me. I can only surmise that some of these people have an enormous amount of impotent rage going on and poor emotional regulation in general, and they take it out on whatever scapegoat is nearest.
