Organizers are planning what they anticipate will be the largest "No Kings" protests yet, targeting what they call authoritarianism under President Donald Trump.
yes I get that but this is an emergency. If you fall and crack your head open, would you wait for the weekend to go to the ER?
your country is crumbling, rule of law is a joke and the end of democracy has arrived… perhaps clinging to a minimun poverty wage should not be the priority today
i didn’t say or imply that at all. i said this would be a way to make an extended strike any day of the week, while allowing those in a more fragile situation to also participate.
OR rather as a way for executing a longer, more effective strike (say, until they undo X policy, or Y politician renounces), which can become sort of a long war of attrition. that’s since single-weekend demonstrations aren’t getting quite the results.
This is an argument over whether having the protest be on a weekend or a week day is better, not on if we should have a protest at all. By your logic we should do it right now, today. See how well that works out
No, you seem to continue lying to yourself with the fallacy that “this just happened, we need time to organize” when in reality you have zombie walked into this crap for YEARS
What organisating have you been doing, hmm? Other than being a keyboard warrior what have you done? Cause I have been going to protests and boycotting and voting against maga since 2016.
Week days are also when the least number of people living pay check to pay check can afford to show up.

plus, good long protests organize food and defense for everyone that would lose everything if they miss work on that time.
Will they give out food or have private security for today’s protest? or is that just the latest excuse to not do anything for another round?
did i at any moment say “today’s protest” should be canceled or something?
No, but then why is getting food and protection an excuse not to organize a march on a weekday (which is what I was originally talking about)?

The point about the weekdays vs weekends is that the gov couldn’t care less about a weekend protest, as shown already multiple times.
A general strike on a weekday, stopping the economic movement, would be a TON more noticeable
And yes, you should hold a general strike TODAY
I was talking about yesterday
Even better, start yesterday
You dont seem to understand how organizating works. “Apes together strong” well you can don’t shit like this to be effective and last minute.
