A bruising new poll shows Keir Starmer stands to lose his own seat to the Green Party in the next election:

This probably wasn’t what he meant when he said 2026 is the year when Britons will ‘turn a corner’.

Problems on top of problems for Starmer

This poll presents three key issues for Starmer:

• He can’t be the prime minister if he loses his seat.
• If he’s losing his seat, it’s likely that Labour lost the entire election.
• Now things are this bad, there’s no way his MPs won’t kick him out of Downing Street the first chance they get.

Keir Starmer’s approval rating has fallen to net -46, his joint lowest score ever.

It matches Theresa May’s historic low in May 2019.

To be fair, Starmer does have multiple polls like this most weeks, so this isn’t entirely unexpected. At this point, his ‘career’ is persisting in his position despite all evidence that he logically should (or would even want to) quit.

While it seems like it’s all over for Starmer, this week actually saw signs that he’s beginning to grow a spine:

While it may seem like standing against Child Sexual Abuse Imagery (CSAM) is the least you could expect from a prime minister, Starmer has repeatedly exceeded expectations on how little spine a PM can have while still sitting upright:

With his past form, if the Greens do present a serious challenge to him in the next election, there’s every chance he’ll surrender before they have chance to trounce him at the polls.
