Officials say over 100,000 residents in the Texas border city of El Paso were left with little to no water after a main break over the weekend, and it was expected to take till mid-week for operations to return to normal.

It’s kinda wild to consider this global news.
Perhaps it shows that a major world power is not taking care of the basic needs of its own people. And instead is engaging in terrorism both foreign and domestic or something
What are you talking about? It’s a water main break and the city set up water distribution sites for the affected people while repairs are underway. It’s not even a national news worthy event.
This has nothing to do with the US federal government.
Surely the scale, 100,000 people suddenly without clean water is a lot.
Yes, but it has nothing to do with the city or country being unwilling or unable to provide for its citizens. And 100k is about 14% of the population.
It sucks, but shit happens. It was a 36" main, and that’s a pretty major break which just takes time to fix.
