Stuff like this makes me feel like y’all don’t understand how little most people are suffering. Things aren’t going to truly change until Americans are starving, and our masters won’t let it get that far.

And if you don’t believe that, look how far they’ve pushed us this century, and not only got away with it, got Trump in twice. If you teleported a conservative in from the 80s or 90s, they would fucking scream at the state of the country. Conservatives from earlier decades would look at the Democrats and call them right-wing nut jobs.

For context: Little me saw Reagan on TV saying if we didn’t reign in government spending we could someday hit $1T in national debt. Think on that.

Last time we effected major change was after 1929. It took 30%+ unemployment, white people dying in the streets, white people starving, white people in Hooverville shanty towns, before we stood up and said fuck all this. We taxed the robber barons, formed unions, denied monopolies and mega-mergers, all that and more. “Republican” was not a great place to be for 60 years.

Why bring up white people? Because seeing our privilege fall out from under us it what it’s going to take. There is all the political power in the world for minorities here, enough to swing plenty enough elections to turn us. I honestly don’t know why they don’t. Guess that’s a truly complex topic.

Many conservatives in congress today are conservatives from previous decades. It’s not all that uncommon for them to serve 40-50 years. Those people are cheering on MAGA right now, or at least not doing anything to stop them, which is functionally the same thing.
