Ugh finally feeling a little better after having a rough start to the rag. I thought I ate something off, but it’s just the usual bullshit now slightly earlier than I expected 🫩

Twinsies!! Mine started yesterday (figured it was coming when I was crying for “no reason” Thursday night) and it was a brutal start. Feeling better now though.

Boyo is in the roof having very linguistically colourful discussions with insulation. Nan would be impressed.

Sunday musings. Meal prep and NRL day (go roosters!!)

    • some banana muffins (bit high carb but at least a better snack than chocolate).
    • Big batch of Italian tomato chicken bake - half for lunches and half for freezer stock.
    • Sweet potato to go with feta and cauliflower rice for salads
    • Prep.some green beans for sides for the chicken

Might wander down and see if any of the local pubs are showing the NRLW final…one thing I think NRL does better then AFL is having the women’s league finals same day as men’s. The NRLW is a top notch competition too.

Gardening America, the philosophy of ugly gardens

pretty much seen similar here too

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-83-YPYSKA&t=

Watching the botanist discuss the motives behind plant choices has made me see bunnings in a total different way

selling plants they know will die in this environment so people keep having to buy new plants

I’m always a bit shocked going out to the new residential developments out west. New builds east are the same.

Very few are interested in their gardens these days, and developers just haven’t put in decent green public spaces.

Lotta space problems with how close the houses are though. No way you could easily grow much between them. Can only really speak to what you see out the front (lotta synthetic grass) but it’s boring as shit. Spend all that coin on a place and just say fuck it rocks, plastic and yuccas why not.

Honestly if I were to stumble home drunk in one of those suburbs I’d get lost and walk into the wrong house.

Making spag bol for some easy post swim meals but also using the cooking as an excuse to stay home all afternoon. The weather of course turned out to be glorious.

Went to the Mayor’s Great Pet Together this morning though, so saw lots of dogs, 1 cat, 1 horse, 2 snakes, some other insects and some rats and a gold retriever disguised as a tiger. So. Many. Cute. Animals.

BeamNG is really as good as the hype. It let’s me drive in my favourite way by just abusing the clutch and keeping the revs up. Crashing is fun too because the softbody physics mean you get your own little burnout style crumple as well.

I’ll need to install it on the big PC so I can get some actual framerate

Have you tried the Steam share thing where the big PC acts as the server and the laptop a cheap terminal. I used it to play baulders in bed post surgery.

I tried it with Elden Ring a while ago but I could notice the input lag. It would be a problem for me but not the kids if they’re just free driving
