I don’t know, maybe it’s just because I was born in one of the not so wealthy rural areas.
But the bigger Lego sets definitely were in the Mercedes-equivalent range of toys.
So you might have gotten one for Christmas, but you wouldn’t have gotten much else that year…
I understand. Also my dad was an engineer so I could get him onboard with buying me sets every so often because we would build together. The rest of the time we built anything together it involved a soldering gun.
But considering I bet you appreciated those sets like no other kid on planet Earth at the time :)
