Someone I live with insists on calling me “bro” and “dude”, despite my repeated pleas for cessation, citing ideolect as a defence.
I get that “bro” and “dude” are part of their vocabulary, but it hurts. Am I in the wrong here?

It’s likely a bullshit excuse for deliberate disrespect. Return the favor by finding something to call them which bothers them - when they complain, give them the same excuse they use in return.
I’ve done that before… maybe I should do it more.
