About half way through book 90 of The Deathlands books! :D
Going back over your text message trying to trim it down as much as possible because you were a few characters over a single text limit and like fuck you were using a whole additional text message from your allowance for the sake of a few characters.
I will definitely start Wheel of Time one of these days but yeh, I’m pretty committed to this right now. I will definitely be finishing it too, don’t you worry, even this many books in I’m still loving it and looking forward to each following book :D
And not one mention of GeoWizard in the entire video, for shame. Magnus takes a more extreme approach scaling rock faces and the like but it isn’t really a straight line mission in same sense, he isn’t trying to cross the whole country like the video title suggests.
Tom (GeoWizard) is more enjoyable to watch IMO, he did Norway 4 years ago and uses a GPS trying to actually stick to a straight line using a Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze award system based on deviation from the line.
If you like the Magnus video I strongly suggest checking out GeoWizards straight line videos.
Haha I appreciate the advice and I used to be the same feeling I had to finish things I started but as I have got older I do drop games and books etc if I am really not enjoying them and it has made things a lot more enjoyable.
It is more because I am currently into the Deathlands series of books. It is currently 155 books long and I’m at 89, whilst I do have a break from it here and there to listen to other books I don’t want to start another series of books just now :D
Wheel of Time is on my to do list, I’ve heard a lot about it both being great and hard to get into to begin with and so I keep putting it off. I will get around to it at some point.
Enjoy your journey into Sanderson, I’m a little jealous I can’t go on those journeys again for the first time!
Ah thanks for the info. I’ll still give it a try though :)
I’ve got “Alcatraz vs the Evil Librarians” to read next but I’m not sure if that is a cosmere based novel or not. Either way I’m sure it’ll be good though!
Eh I’m English, all beige food is top tier!
I realise you are having health issues from reading your other posts and you should always prioritise that!
I really have so little interest in that short form twitter esque posting that I actively reject it so if I’m being completely honest I doubt I will go there.
Don’t push yourself to post the long form posts, get better and the best of luck with your upcoming appointments. I will look forward to your return to the long form post and hopefully with accompanying info of how well you are doing physically in the future :D
You are not an imposter, you are the fediverses premier gaming journalist and I’ll fight anyone that says different xD
Have a good day!
I have indeed, although not the newest book that was released more recently. I want to go back and read everything again but that is quite a time commitment before doing the new book and I’m not ready for that just yet :D
It is very much on par with Mistborn in terms of the story and writing, I just prefer Mistborn that little bit more because I love the concept of the magic system in that but honestly there isn’t a lot in it.
I’ve always avoided games based “journalism” (and all journalism really) as in my experience it tends to be full of over opinionated bullshit however your posts are different.
I genuinely enjoy your posts, they are well written, clear and succinct. You offer your opinion on things you genuinely enjoy but usually as a side note rather than baking it into the news or subject you are writing about and it is generally clear you are just passionate about the things you are writing about.
Where can I join the PerfectDark fan club?
If you like fantasy and haven’t read any Brandon Sanderson then do yourself a favour and get on it!
My personally favourites are the Mistborn books but it isn’t exactly an easy choice because literally everything he writes is great in my experience.
I just finished Tress of the Emerald Sea which is a shorter standalone book but still great!
Absolutely. They don’t like being called out on it either. I am very vocal towards them and their blocking of cycle lanes and consequently I have had multiple drivers try and knock me off my bike. I had one guy when I was on foot try and run me over and then get out and try and fight me.
What also really pisses me off is that they are allowed to use bus lanes. Bus lanes, in my opinion, should be there the encourage use of PUBLIC transport by making it quicker for buses to get through traffic. They should not be benefiting these private businesses and encouraging even more entitled cunts driving taxis.
Honestly I could rant all day about taxi drivers, I fucking despise them.
“…while more Windows and Linux users came”
As a cyclist this is even worse, the amount of people that pass dangerous close and then I catch up to them and they are sending a text in their lap is absurd.
The deliveroo type food delivery riders on scooters are even worse, they drive around my city permanently looking at their phones with one hand on it tapping the screen, passing me as close as they can it seems. I also see them driving on foot paths and down cycle lanes to cut between two roads so they don’t have to go around more and more often in the last year or two.
And worst of the worst, taxi drivers. They are arrogant, entitled cunts who think they own the road just because they drive as a job.
I fully support these idiots being banned as they are all menaces on the road and are endangering countless peoples well being with their irresponsible driving. I don’t care if “that’s their livelihood” they should consider that before driving like pricks.
That would be pretty intense and fucking awesome but yeh these days I dunno if I could be bothered.
infected mushroom intensifies Everything is cleaned at x2 speed.
I don’t do it much any more but one of my favourite pass times used to be taking a load of acid and then going to a very public place or somewhere that you are forced to be around lots of people and have many interactions.
Busy shopping centres, a zoo, busy pubs, an ex girlfriends family wedding where I knew no one. I guess it was kind of masochistic in a way but I just really enjoyed putting myself into challenging situations whilst tripping. The challenge was always to try take the highest dose possible and still be able to actually keep my shit together. I’m sure plenty of people I interacted with at those times thought “this guy is blasted out of his mind, Jesus” but who gives a fuck, I’m never seeing these people again and it actually made me want to speak to people in the first place.
These days I prefer to just lay down, listen to music and drift off into the stratosphere.
Holy shit that “song” is bad, that jarring transition into the “rapping” is just fucking terrible. No wonder they turned comments off…
