Literally every step of this year long journey to get this facility investigated has been “you need to pay for a lawyer” from state agencies.
Like, I’m sorry, I thought sending kids home from school covered in unexplained bruises would be a crime? CEO attempted a protective order on me, LOL. I’ve never spoken to her or been in her vicinity, but pathological liars going to do what they do best. It was really weird - I wasn’t notified or anything, just was checking to see what my court records looked like and I guess she tried something. When I have money I’ll have to go up to the court house and try to get a copy of whatever she said.

What I’m insinuating here is that there is a weird bias/over regulations in labeling vegan products, that is not applied to other products.
Eg - why do businesses get to sell “crab meat” which is not crab but other fishes, and this is not considered misleading? Or “fruit snacks” in the US that are candy and contain no fruit.
But ag wants to control terms like “milk” and not allow things like “oat milk” to be called oat milk. There’s been pushes to not allow presenting beef alternatives as beef alternatives.
I’ve seen it argued that “fake meat” is inherently misleading, while if I buy “grapefruit juice” at the store it is likely to be more apple or pear, and there is not really a push to regulate there.
Odd that language around surimi/imitation crab meat tends to be completely unregulated and misleading.
Almost like this is less about informing the costumer, and more about something else…

One of my projects is something that I would be willing to be arrested for. That kind of civil disobedience would draw attention to my cause, and it is one that I think most people would be empathetic too - my mission is drawing attention to abuse at a children’s psychiatric facility.

The other effect is that most gas’s solubility in liquid decreases with temperature. If you leave your can of soda out on a hot day, you can see this in action.
Our ocean is the our biggest “carbon sink.” As it heats, it can hold less, shifting the chemical equilibrium to release more CO2 in the atmosphere.
I’m wondering if that could counter the ocean acidification effect over a long time - if we could get a negative feedback loop that would counteract the effects of increasing pH.
We are already having issues with commercial mussel production - the ocean needs to be a basic environment for oysters and mollusks and other creatures to build their shells. In a 7.8-8.1 environment, we are going to have serious problems with those species.
Another concerning thing is the ice-albedo positive feedback loop. Sea ice is more reflective than dark ocean water. Dark ocean water warms, melts the sea ice, and then exposes even more dark ocean water to heat.
The end of the regime would definitely do a lot to help conserve and protect wildlife at least!
