I was weirded out by the disappearing finger as well. There was a recent article in The Atlantic that mentioned Google had been testing AI to improve video clarity. It’s possible we are seeing a combination of that and motion interpolation artifacts like what was mentioned here. I used yt-dlp commands to download both the CNN video and the video from the white house channel. They both look less weird on a larger screen. That process was called out here.

It is possible they wanted to fire him anyway. My guess is that the code of conduct policy is only enforced when they want to oust someone at his level. He’ll likely get a massive severance package on the way out. Looks like Nestlé has been struggling this year.
Nestlé (OTCPK:NSRGY) (OTCPK:NSRGF) shares dropped 6% after reporting disappointing half-year results. Revenue continues to decline, organic growth is driven solely from pricing, and margins remain pressured.

I really like my Framework 16 laptop. I’ve been using it for about a year now. The modular ports and easily upgradeable design were a major selling point for me. Video workflows work well via Kdenlive and ffmpeg, but you can also install Davinci Resolve with some additional configuration. I purchased the GPU upgrade (https://frame.work/products/16-graphics-module-amd-radeon-rx-7700s) and a handful of different port modules. My only dislikes are that it can get really hot from time to time and the GPU fans are pretty loud when they kick on. A coworker of mine has a Framework 13 laptop and seemed very satisfied with it. Best of luck in your search!
I’m talking about the tethered delivery system used by the drone to lower the package.
Zipline Fact Sheet | Zipline Drone Delivery & Logistics https://www.zipline.com/about/zipline-fact-sheet
After flying to the customer’s destination, the Zip will hover about 300 feet in the air before lowering to the ground. Zips automatically avoid obstacles and gently place the delivery at the guest’s address.
This doesn’t sound like it would work in areas with above ground power lines.
Your post had me looking for recipes. I bet lobster mushrooms would work well as a replacement for lions mane in this recipe. Mushroom crab cakes sound delicious.

Lobster mushrooms are super dry. Rehydrating them can improve their texture. Try chopping them into small cubes and rehydrate them in a saucepan with 4 cups of water. Add some chopped garlic, an onion, and a little salt. Cook until the water has evaporated, then add some olive oil to the pan. Saute the mixture until the garlic begins to brown a bit. Remove from heat and transfer to a bowl. If the mushrooms are still a little tough, cover the bowl with a lid or towel and let it sit for 10 minutes. The steam from the onions will further rehydrate the mushrooms. This mixture is a great addition to fried rice. The red coating on the cubes resembles the red color of char siu pork.
I’ve never heard of “This Is Food” before. Reminds me of “Almost Pizza” 😆
Have you tried using the “I Am Sober” app? I’ve been using it for years and have had good success with it. My advice would be to track exactly how many drinks you have each day and challenge yourself to go longer and longer periods without drinking. The longer you go, the more often you will notice how good it feels to not be bloated or hungover all the time.
I am currently ~6 months sober and feeling great! I used to drink 2-3 beers a night. If you account for the % abv the number was occasionally closer to 4-6. I found that my cravings for beer began to fade after quitting for about a month. Those four weeks can be surprisingly hard to achieve if you have never tried quiting before. Just do your best and don’t let a relapse convince you that it can’t be done.
After a while you will probably lose some weight. Beer has a ton of sugar and empty calories. It also messes with how efficient your body is at digesting food. I’ve lost 30 pounds since I began my journey! Do you have acid reflux? If so, you might begin to notice that quitting reduces acid reflux and ulcer flare ups. As a result, you might not need to use antacids as often. I recently found out that antacids can impact the effectiveness of medication you might be taking since it changes the pH of your stomach.
The only other advice I can give is that you might need to relearn how to manage stress/anxiety without alcohol. You might also feel pressured to drink at social gatherings. As you build confidence, it will become easier to not let others pressure you to drink. That might take some time. I’ve found that kombucha, CBD sodas, or ginger beer have been great replacements for alcohol in social situations and easily fly under the radar of people not minding their own damn business. 😁
I’m glad you are considering quitting drinking! Best of luck to you!
Zappa’s last US show was pretty epic. One of the most interesting covers of Stairway To Heaven I’ve heard. March 23-25 1988.
“Infected snails may survive for at least a year and continue to be able to use the eyes on the ends of their tentacles.”
The video showing how the worm mimics a caterpillar’s movement is wild! Also a bit terrifying…
Tested SingleFile today. Very cool. Thanks for sharing!
