I’m afraid to brick my head unit, leaving my family quite put out lol. I was thinking that it would be nice to add an app though that I could use for remote-climate control on my 2023 now that my Kia subscription has lapsed.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Canada PM Carney says his country will help finance a sovereign internet network with links to Europe, Asia and the Arctic as he seeks to avoid routing data through U.S. exchange pointsEnglish
30·2 months agoHopefully we can also get sovereign internet services to our entire population. Where I live in NB, 20 minutes outside the capital city, the options are: overloaded and poor reception to Xplore fixed wireless (which was sold to a US company is 2022), strangled and under-invested DSL circa 1995 from Bell, or Starlink.

12·2 months agoI’m interested in what they are doing with the information more than anything. It’s not unusual for a media device to be using SSDP/UPNP and mDNS, looking for media devices to connect to. Ideally, off by default with a way to enable/disable and not used for advertising.

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•LibreOffice breaks download records after declaring it has no AI featuresEnglish
3·2 months agoI love LibreOffice. It is a blast to the past to use it (for better or worse), and each app is incredibly flexible. I used it for creating practice plans last year, and the whiplash from Notion/Logseq and other “friendly” editing tools was tough to get used to. I wonder if there’s room for an extension or built-in mode to present a simple or focus mode. It’s been a while so I feel like I’d have to get back to using it daily to collect my thoughts on this 😅

Canada@lemmy.ca•Gripens bound for Ukraine could be built in Canada: SaabEnglish
12·2 months agoForget helping the USA, setting up the supply chain to build Gripens for Europe would also bolster non-military supply chains with Europe.

I’m waiting for the day when this will be the “relevant XKCD”!
