I guess you are being downvoted because people don’t like to be confronted with such cruel practices, but having lived in a place where anesthesia is a privilege very rarely given to village animals, I can confirm that it does happen. The main reasons given are that it fattens the piglets faster and makes them less aggressive though, not boar taint.

  • Context:

Tsujigiri (辻斬り or 辻斬, literally “crossroads killing”) is a Japanese term for a practice when a samurai, after receiving a new katana or developing a new fighting style or weapon, tests its effectiveness by attacking a human opponent, usually a random defenseless passer-by, in many cases during night time. The practitioners themselves are also referred to as tsujigiri.

The act of tsujigiri against defenceless civilians was widely and socially condemned as immoral, cowardly, and associated with rogue samurais and bandits, and was not considered common or respectable samurai practice. It was made a capital offence by law in 1602 by the Edo government.

Slight tangent: maybe this is just an online thing since I hardly ever hear it in real life, but I do not understand the mean comments towards short men (especially from women who are still shorter than them). You get all the benefits of man™ in compact form. What’s not to like??

  • It’s more than than just social media:

As well as the collection of social media information, the new document proposes the gathering of an applicant’s telephone numbers and email addresses used over the last five and 10 years respectively, and more information about their family members including their addresses and telephone numbers.

An announcement on the website for the US Embassy and Consulate in Mexico states certain visa applicants must list all social media usernames or handles of every platform they have used in the last five years.

It warns that if any social media information is not listed, it could lead to both current and future visas being denied.

What happens if you don’t use social media or claim that you don’t? I assume it will be up to the discretion of whoever reviews the application, and that the entire policy will lead to a well-deserved drop in tourism revenue.
