  • More like the Pentagon wants to shoot Americans, and Trump is their “yes man”

You won’t convince me Trump is actually in charge. Not unless DOGE investigates the Pentagon, and the reason Musk cut ties is so that he wouldn’t be assassinated for that investigation.

The Pentagon has failed every annual audit since they started auditing it 7 years ago.

The day before 9/11, Donald Rumsfeld gave a speech about how the Pentagon lost over 2 trillion dollars that it couldn’t account for. 9/11 was the distraction the Pentagon needed to prevent an audit, and they got 20 years if increased military spending thanks to the “war on terror”

The Pentagon will kill anyone who tries to hold it accountable. They will steal any amount of money, including trillions and trillions of dollars. They answer to no one.

Right there. That’s the real enemy to our Republic.

  • It’s because their approach to protests is to form police lines. They want to form a phalanx-style wall of police that cuts off access to the road. This limits freedom of movement and lets them direct the protest towards a given direction if they decide to break it up and fire tear gas into the crowd.

They probably don’t have enough people to form 10 police lines.

I would call this “decentralized protest” and yes it cripples the current tactics of the police.

Their answer will be decentralized policing, basically nazi tactics. Informants, tip lines, rewards for ratting our your neighbor. The FBI uses the same type of tactic when they do manhunts. Except they will use these tactics to target the people organizing the protests.

  • I don’t skip machine learning, and machine learning doesn’t annoy me. People who don’t understand what machine learning is annoy me.

The works used for machine learning were not stolen. AI models do not contain any stolen works. Those works were not copied, and do not exist in the AI model. When AI models undergo machine learning, they scan the works fed to them and reduce all the commonalities into math. When prompted “draw me a duck” they use algorithms to produce the image of a duck, and those algorithms are accurate because they are the result of scanning a million pictures of ducks. Not one of those pictures actually exist in the model. Just the algorithm that is the result of the machine learning of ducks.

I use Stable Diffusion at home, and it is only a few gigabytes in size. If the model actually contained all the pictures used to train it, it would be petabytes in size. I couldn’t hope to fit it on my home desktop because it would be far too much data.

This is why I’m on the side that AI is just a paintbrush. It’s a highly advanced paintbrush, yes. But it is not intelligent.

Which is why I take note that you’re comparing AI to people. You can’t compare AI to people. Using AI is not the same as paying a chef, or paying a carpenter, or whatever. AI is a tool.

Our society needs a legal framework to deal with AI. We can go the route that AI is a tool - which means generated works are the property of those using the tool, or we can go the route of AI is sentient and has rights - which means we need to treat AI like they are people, and their works are their own.

If you are comparing AI to people, it seems to me that you believe in AI rights.

No more “Woooosh” I understand the issue at hand. But many people here just want to shitpost or post angry things. Give me a discussion.

  • I had a blue diamond frying pan that claimed to be non-stick and much tougher than teflon. It claimed to have a “ceramic” coating, but I looked into it and it was just some kind of resin. Stuff stuck to it and it chipped and peeled just like teflon. It might have been a little tougher, but you sure as hell couldn’t use stainless steel utensils on it like it claimed on the packaging.

The only cookware I’ll use from now on is stainless steel or triply. Easy to clean, can use any utensils on it, and it’s non-stick enough if you grease it. Plus you can cook at any temperature! Which is the whole point of a frying pan!

How did teflon frying pans even come into existence in the first place? Frying is done at high temperature, and teflon peels at high temperature! It defeats the entire purpose! Every teflon pan I’ve ever used has peeled and left awful cancer-causing debris in my food. Every other person I’ve ever seen using a teflon pan has had the same problem. It’s like big cancer has a monopoly on teflon pans and has brainwashed the public into wanting to buy the damn things.
