  • I’d recommend you make it top priority try to step in for your son here. No matter how hard, how passive or incompetent a principal is, or other parents… It’s your obligation as a parent to safeguard your child from bodily harm. Children shouldn’t be forced to fend for their own wellbeing at a mere 4 years of age. If any kind of fight is required to solve this, it should be you fighting on behalf of your son. Not a 4yo against both bullies and the entire world of adults not doing their job.

Yes, please. “Fixing” someone by teaching them to practice violence has never solved anyone’s problems in life. It’ll just turn them into a person who also thinks violence is an adequate means. Pretty much like that other girl who obiously also learned violence gets her something. And currently they seem to be smarter than that, you don’t want to drag them down and turn them into some potential bully as well?!

I mean first of all it’s the adults responsibility to fix this situation. They have to because it’s unacceptable and it’s their job. And furthermore, this should be about stopping(!) kids punching other kids, not add more punching to the mix. We really don’t need more violence on this world and in future society.

(And lastly this isn’t even what they teach in karate club. Karate isn’t about fighting other people. It’s about personal growth and about you yourself.)

  • Sure. If you’re super boring, never write anything nefarious about your political leaders, don’t run online services, don’t volunteer in any organization, have no secrets and not keep any for your friends, don’t get exploited, don’t have an evil ex with access to flock cameras, nor have sex or anything, don’t travel, don’t have an important job, no crazy neighbours… I guess you probably won’t need privacy. You’ll just have to float with the masses and hope no company you contract with gets hacked or bad people cross your ways, ever.

  • Depends. Those are just letters. First and foremost meant to scare you and do something without thinking it through. You can decide to respond, or not respond, that’s up to you. Though it’s strongly recommended to contact a lawyer before signing any contract with them, admitting to wrongdoing or give them information about yourself. I’d probably try to avoid (5) without legal advise.

If you toss it in the bin, they’ll have to decide whether they have enough evidence and whether it’s worth the effort to actually sue you. Usually that letter was an invitation to settle out of court. At their terms and conditions, though.

And yes, they’re most certainly backed by the media companies. Otherwise they wouldn’t have any business messing with their intellectual property. And maybe the law firm only does letters, maybe they have some number of court cases to achieve each month, who knows? Maybe they already exhausted their more promising X court cases this month and you won’t hear from them again if you decide to just ignore them. Maybe you’re one of the “lucky” few who get sued.
