Think of an awful lot of features but they’re all developer facing.

This is the thing I don’t get. Long-Term they will make way more money if their mobile games are good otherwise they get a reputation for putting out crap and overall less interest the next time around. The best long-term strategy would be to put in effort, especially when the return is so good.

Playing first person shooter on a mobile phone sounds like literally the worst possible experience. You need physical controls for accuracy touch screens are terrible for that plus of course you’re obscuring a good chunk of the screen with your fingers.

There are a few good mobile games, although I admit not many, but the good ones work with the limitations of the medium rather than trying to simply brute force through them. Good ones include things like Hitman Go, Threes, And a fairly possible Eve Online mobile game, which was only really let down by being Eve Online.

Well if they die then we don’t need to care for them anymore, so that’s a saving right there. You have to think big picture and develop policies which synergize together.

Oh well at least that’s over. Totally pointless few years, as it was obvious that they were going to win, in the end they were always going to get their own way because all they had to do was start to quit.

I know the Tories want to privatize the NHS, but I think they probably wanted to do it on their timetable.

He wouldn’t survive in the Victorian era though. In the Victorian era there were certain things expected of a gentleman and part of that was being at least corneal to the lower classes, and in some cases actually philanthropic towards them. There’s no way in hell he could pull that off.

A few years ago I made them write into my contract that I was permanently work from home which they happily did because at the time everyone was permanently worked from home anyway.

However everyone else has to erroneously go in 2 days a week. If you can do your job remotely 3 days a week you can do it remotely 5 days a week. Going in is utterly redundant. The pathetic justification provided is that communication is easier in person. However I find that my the lazy co-workers are just as useless in the office, And the good ones are just as good, so I’m not sure that’s true.

I don’t think it’s going to get much more broadly used than it is now. I work in cyber security and there have been password hacks like this since practically the beginning of the internet. It’s called a rainbow table attack, It mostly relies on the victims being complete idiots.

You don’t even need to have a particularly secure password to be safe from it, you just have to have a unique one from site to site. Even if in other respects it’s relatively weak it will still defeat a rainbow table attack.

The point is this stuff has been going on for decades and people are still making basic fundamental errors, so I can’t see how that’s going to change in the future. Maybe we should require everyone to take some sort of basic proficiency test before they’re allowed online.

I guess but if a shadowy company wanted my DNA they could get it easily enough even if I don’t hand it over to them so I’m not sure how much point there is in being protective of it. Anyway what are they going to do with it, that a medical company couldn’t do?

The government already has my blood from back when they were doing medical testing, so it’s all a bit of a moot point anyway. Also an insurance companies took some blood and they did an MRI scan so they have my brain as well. Jokes on them if they choose to clone me, I’m bloody useless.

The only thing is he isn’t shown as having it when he’s moving into his own quarters. And then it shows up again in a later episode. Especially obvious he doesn’t have it when he moved into a Jeffrey’s tube tube.

Actually hallucinations have gone down as AI training has increased. Mostly through things like prompting them to provide evidence. When you prompt them to provide evidence they don’t hallucinate in the first place.

The problem is really to do with the way the older AIs were originally trained. They were basically trained on data where a question was asked, and then a response was given. Nowhere in the data set was there a question that was asked, and the answer was “I’m sorry I do not know”, so the AI basically was unintentionally taught that it is never acceptable to not answer a question. More modern AI have been trained in a better way and have been told it is acceptable not to answer a question. Combined with the fact that they now have the ability to perform internet searches, so like a human they can go look up data if they recognize that they don’t have access to it in their current data set.

You said anyone using an AI in any capacity should be fired. I have heard infinitely better takes from 4-year-olds and why they need more ice cream.

Doctors are just using AI like they use any tool. To inform their decision.

Yeah we should old use the corporate system which is brilliant. As long as you’re rich, easy solution, just be rich and you’re fine.

You were probably already at risk then of a misstep. Don’t have time to think about the output then they probably didn’t have time before AI came along, so the AI isn’t really adding to the issue here.

The headline and the article are completely mismatched.

Basically all the article is saying is that doctors sometimes use AI. Which is a bit like saying sometimes doctors look things up in books. Yeah, course they do.

If somebody comes in with a sore throat and the AI prescribes morphine the doctor is probably smart enough to not do that so I don’t really think there’s a major issue here. They are skilled medical professionals they’re not blindly following the AI.

The first time I heard about concord was when they shut it off. I don’t know how they expect a game to do well when they did absolutely zero advertising.

I kind of hope they retcon that at some point.

In my head the justification for all of that is that the queen arose as a necessity to have a single individual for the crew of the Enterprise to interact with. This required her to have a certain amount of autonomy from the collective consciousness, the end result was that she turned into a bit of a dictator and because she had control over the collective she essentially took over without much fight. This would have been obvious to anyone else that this was a possibility, but the Borg had no experience of individuality in the collective before that, so the concern never occurred to them.

Eventually she died and the collective were released from her, and now they are back to being a hive mind. A hive mind that has learned not to do that again.

The reason seven of nine did not become like that was because the queen knew that that was a possibility, and so kept her largely connected so she could to a large extent control her.
