Ew, two ugly people both inside and out.
Ew, two ugly people both inside and out.
This. I worked in a call centre for a while. Service was not the priority, speed was. I got in trouble for staying on the line to actually resolve a customer’s issue because it took a long time (basically ended up having to do a conference call with the third party who had fucked up). I left that job ASAP because fuck that.
Did you mean to say American for one of those systems? England is part of Great Britain.
On the ground floor, you’re standing on the ground which has been covered by a (hopefully nice) floor.
Eh, I find it easier. If someone says second floor, I know that’s two flights of stairs I need to go up.
Then we would think it’s a three-storey building. Really don’t see the issue with calling the ground level what it is. The ground floor is zero levels above the ground. The first floor is one level above the ground. Think of it like this: how many flights of stairs does it take to get to that floor?
Example: my local hospital lists a ward I visited as being on the second floor, therefore you go up two flights of stairs to get to it.
Yes, a single storey does have a floor. We call it the ground.
With a latte, it’s just normal steamed milk. A cappuccino has foamy steamed milk. Specifically, it has an equal volume of steamed milk and foam taking up space in the cup. You get more actual milk diluting the coffee in a latte, resulting in a milder drink.
We need a t-shirt that says this.
We need them in most residential areas honestly. I live by a main road in my town and there’s so many people with these cars in the wee hours of the morning. I hate them.
They can pry panto from my cold dead hands.
Dagnabbit you’ve got me there!
That’s good to hear! Hopefully it becomes more common or someone makes a universal kit to adapt existing vehicles someday. It probably wouldn’t be as elegant as a built-in fix, but definitely less waste and expense.
That would be ideal, I agree. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t make cars safer in the meantime for children, who don’t have a say in the matter.
I ended up Googling which episode Clara left and watching from the one after that. I love her actress but the character was unlikeable for me, too. Bill’s era is pretty good imho, and I’m working myself up to the next doctor because I’m slightly dreading it after all the bad stuff I’ve heard. I did watch the specials with David Tennant because anything with Donna Noble is always, always mandatory for me.
If you liked 10 and Donna, you should absolutely consider watching the specials.
I don’t have kids and I don’t plan to, but instead of all the smart crap in cars, why don’t car manufacturers put some kind of car seat detection in? Like a little alarm that plays if you walk away from your car with a baby or child in it?
They can tell if someone’s in a seat without their seatbelt, they should be able to work out a way to detect car seats too. This is 100% preventable.
Hell, not even car manufacturers. If someone made a Hackathon-type event where the goal was to make the best baby alert system, I’m sure there’s at least one smart person out there who could crack this.
Yes, child rapists should be ostracised forever. As adults, we have a responsibility to protect the children in our communities. Sorry if this is hard for you to understand but the safety of innocent children is infinitely more important than the poor delicate feelings of a child rapist. If they don’t want to suffer the consequences of their actions, then they shouldn’t do the bad thing.
Also, he didn’t even serve the full sentence given by the court that sentenced him. So no, he did not serve his punishment. That’s a load of shite. His government extradited him and let him off easy. And then they effectively spat on the whole punishment again by letting him represent his country anyway.
It doesn’t matter how long ago it was. The harm was still real. And it screams “we care more about perpetrators’ rights than victims.” Or maybe they don’t care because the victim wasn’t Dutch. I don’t know.
I do however agree that they shouldn’t go after his family. He committed the crime, not them. Even if I am disgusted by the very idea of anyone willing to sleep with a nonce. Still not my business.
Kavernacle just did a very succinct video on this exact topic https://youtu.be/JmA-0it04Wk?feature=shared
It really does feel like that right now, as someone who lives in northern England.
