Lemmy seemingly is more anti Soviet than Reddit, unless you’re talking about the main Reddit subs which is cheating. Seriously I’ve never seen people who consider themselves socialist to be so vehemently anti ussr especially without providing why; atleast on Reddit lots of people try liking Wikipedia or something lmfao

Read about literacy rates, poverty and life expectancy for starters. “Building hospitals and schools” is the answer to “so what was the ussr doing in those countries” lmao get better propaganda. The prop I choose to follow is atleast backed by LOTS of history.

10·23 hours agoMilitary people are the fucking weirdest I swear
There’s no proof they were mass killing anyone it’s been used as a “justification” to invade Iran for American imperial interests. I’ve seen no proof that protesters were mass killed and I’ve in fact seen more Iranians claim the internet blackout and mass killings were bullshit. I’m tired of seeing that this is Iran’s or Trumps fault or that it’s to “distract from the Epstein files” which is the dumbest bullshit you could think of… cmon yall the “progressive” governor of my state literally said they would preemptively strike Iran in a debate before Trump was even president again.
idk about you but I also have to pay my bills and then pay to eat here is USA otherwise I lose my home or die
Like I said, lots of modern writing on it. But apparently arguing against points I don’t actually believe is easier.
that accurately describes half the people I know in USA, meaning they currently post stuff like that or engage with people who like it because they find it funny, or atleast are willing to excuse fascist rhetoric to maintain some weak sort of social fabric they’ve created for themselves. Nobody wants to be seen as the guy who’s “no fun” when the boyz are just “joking around” drawing swastikas or whatever. And yea I’m shamed to admit I used to post shit like that forsure because I was stupid and I grew up in white supremacist America as a white man.
My point is that I’ve never seen so many people care about Hitlerites, while they should have been taking Neo-nazism very seriously they were drawing swastikas on portapottys, posting swastika flags on Facebook (it’s a joke!!1!), or the classic Sam Hyde worship … and then saying communism is the real danger.
I digress but I guess I’m saying I’m glad there ain’t no IDF going around some of these peoples houses, they wouldn’t even have to plant this shit lol
more like yr moms wyddfa
Elementary school level of understanding tells you that focusing on the benefit of land because it benefits humans is still a good thing. The more we focus on long term environmental goals the more we will tackle all facets of them, the PSL has written about it in modern language, and that’s only one org.
whining about theory gets you nowhere. I promise you you won’t meet leftists who feel good about factory farming.
You can do this kinda stuff on the internet all you’d like and call us cultists for our politics but if you’re going to engage with people like us you’re gonna get real answers based on material conditions (both future and past). Sorry it’s not the argument you want but eradicating capitalism will rapidly increase education and literacy, workplace independence and most importantly eradicate the drive for profit, as others have said, even in ways like profit driven FOOD and WATER consumption leading to over farming and wasting products that go moldy on the shelf because they’re too expensive, and on and on. Hurl insults all you want, you’d fit right in on Reddit
aren’t exactly known for their concern for the environment or animal welfare beyond recognizing that things like soil fatigue and over-farming would eventually render it unfit for production to feed the humans.
lol… so in other words you mean recognizing environmental concern. Is this that materialism I keep hearing about?

politics @lemmy.world•What naysayers don’t get about ‘No Kings,’ the biggest protest in U.S. historyEnglish
2·14 days agoto be fair, if that’s the way shit goes down there isn’t a single thing you can do (not to be surveilled that is) because we’ve all been on “the list” since the moment we got cell phones and a Facebook or Reddit account. And the moment your workplace got cameras inside or outside. Maybe even before you started working there.
My point being that showing up to these events if you choose to isn’t any more dangerous than surfing the internet at home when it comes to surveillance, or driving along the highway/walking down the street. The moment they start rounding up people for what’s on their phones we’re all the target. Just cuz you have a vpn or something doesn’t mean your posts/phone isn’t findable.
Not trying to scare anyone btw just giving my take on people saying be careful about protests in this way, even just going to work you are surveilled in the same way.

How many deaths? 500 gorbillion? I heard he personally ate them all too. Must be that evil judeo Bolshevism! Scary!
