Welcome any new users! We’ve got memes on deck at !memes@lemmy.world and if you’re a programmer of some kinds we got !programmer_humor@programming.dev to scratch that itch and be sure to drop a shit(post) off at !lemmyshitpost@lemmy.world or if you want SCIENCE and memes head over to the wonderful !science_memes@mander.xyz or if you just want regular SCIENCE mander.xyz is full of sciency comms like !science@mander.xyz and !astronomy@mander.xyz . !onehundredninetysix@lemmy.blahaj.zone is also nice this time of year, but you’ll have to post before you can leave.
We’re not without our cons though, biggest problem we have are probably the Tankies, but here they’re mostly on the Tankie Triad lemmy.ml, lemmygrad and hexbear. For most instances you only have to worry about .ml, but on Lemmy you can do a personal instance wide block if you’d rather just not deal with them. If you want to see what they get up to from a safe distant check !meanwhileongrad@sh.itjust.works
Lemmy.cafe is an instance that blocks the entire Tankie Triad
I just made an account on your instance, and wow. It’s so obvious that my original reply to you is definitely being “lightly” brigaded by .ml
From here it sits at positive 2, from my .world account it’s at 0 LMAO
It’s grad and hex that most instances defed from, .ml is more subtle and hosts a number of official Lemmy software support forums, so not many do defed from them. Unfortunately.
Yea, but unfortunately the admins and mods of the Tankie Triad are the biggest Tankies around and enforce that through (ironic, because they always complain about censorship) mod action
So the best course of action, if you’re not on an instance that defed’s from them, is to not reward their comms with activity. A total boycott, no posts, no comments, no upvotes. With a little luck, all the non-tankie users will gradually shift over
Got a source on that? My info came direct from my doctor, not that it wouldn’t be the first time a doctor gave inaccurate or outdated info, but it still carries more weight for me over a random person online
Intentionally as in “X parts of my personality are pushing people away so I should work on that”? Yea in general, but it’s not easy, it requires serious effort and motivation from within.
Over time and just leaving it to fate on if those changes are good or bad? Also yes, but without putting in the effort to control it who knows where it’ll end up. Like if someone is “an angry person” in their 20s maybe they’ll chill out in their 40s…or get worse
This would probably be a better fit for !yepowertrippinbastards@lemmy.dbzer0.com
Just an fyi, if you’re over the age of 30 and the last MMR vaccine you had was the childhood rounds, you need to re-up
Thanks, I read through it and it makes sense now, though I’m not sure how much we can trust CDC info currently, but it doesn’t look like it’s been modified (yet) to be crazy
I’m def in that window, so that’s probably why that or the whole “unless there’s an outbreak” part, which is why I asked him about it in the first place lmao
