I wonder if this correlates to an underlying trauma experienced by right-wing style preppers who are all convinced they can recreate civilization on their own in their back yards

3·20 minutes agoHappy to. It’s a protest, not a general strike. General strikes can’t happen without massive community organizing, union support, mutual aid, etc. which are all things that are basically 100% absent in the United States
6·48 minutes agoI might be in the minority here but I will not use a phone that I can’t strip Google Play and other Google services out of, so it would need support from something like Lineage, Graphene, e, Linux, etc before I would consider it.

Yes, you must keep it as government officials, members of the public etc. and not let it turn into a revenue generator even then. The focus should be on enforcement with the end goal of safer public spaces.
I’ve always been a fan of the idea that you don’t need armed police to do traffic enforcement, you could get this done with another group of unarmed local officials of some sort with cameras, like meter maids but mobile. Headlights too bright, muffler too loud or missing, speeding, etc could be gathered and enforced much more rapidly. All the fines etc. are mailed out, no dangerous human-human or dangerous roadside interactions required. Would increase the amount and effectiveness as well. It would also free up police to do what they are (in theory, in an ideal world) supposed to be doing which is solving crimes.

3·2 days agoNot OP but I bought a 45" LG UltraGear gaming “monitor” a while back that’s basically just a TV, no smart anything etc. Right now the only ones I see after a quick search are curved though, mine is flat.
One of my favorite subreddits back when posting photoshopped pictures of birds with arms was all the rage was /r/notbirdswitharms which was a sub where you couldn’t not just post birds with arms, you couldn’t post anything that wasn’t a sandwich
