Freight right-of-way ownership is also a problem, but the car set they are replacing/adding to is 75+ years old, they are sturdy and reliable, but having more cars means that they could increase service beyond 3 trips a week on these routes. At the moment, occasional breakdowns and maintenance periods mean they face long distance equipment shortages sometimes.

@Gladaed @grte That is a real freight train, as far as I can tell. But it looks weird because it appears they photoshopped or told AI to remove the (likely Canadian Pacific) logos off the side of the locomotive and owner logos off train cars, and the train numbers off the grey rounded rectangles. In railfan parlance, this locomotive model is a “Gevo”… compare with this photo of a similar engine.
