AI was great until the gaming community does what it does best, dissect the everliving shit out of it. Once the game became known then all the charm was gone because the AI followed strict, easy to bypass rules.

They don’t care if we remember Snowden because the collective response to the Snowden leaks was a week-long news cycle and a collective shoulder shrug from society.
Your average person only cares about their privacy and security to the point it clashes with their convenience. They will happily trade their security to make their life a little easier, even if in the long run it cost them way more money.
They will let us small fry think we have the illusion of privacy with our vpns, anti-fingerprint browsers and de-googled phones but the reality is, we’re trapped by the whims of a society that LOVES being told what to do so they don’t have to think for themselves.
Because they don’t actually want to do that. Having open platforms means actual conversation happens and that’s poison to authoritarians.
Every so often r/conservative traffic dies down and the subreddit turns much more centrist. It’s never liberal by any stretch but you’ll actually see lots of criticism poke through. Same thing happens with r/politics occasionally. Reddit is just astroturfed so heavily that there isn’t a point to it anymore. You have worse than a coinflips odds on replying to an actual human.

Why does the rest of the world have to comply with a handful of states laws? The US is not the center of the universe. If you people want to lick the boot and allow this, then by all means, create your own terrible versions and leave the rest of the world alone.

Both states are awful.
Wow, that was hard.

Delete social media, seriously, it’s a cancer that eats your soul.
I deleted every social media outside of Lemmy and my mental health drastically improved. I only pick up my phone to message my spouse or friends to make plans.
Disconnect from the race, your brain will thank you.
The planet literally doesn’t care about us in any way. We could nuke every inch of the planet continuously for a decade and the planet will continue to spin and eventually become a lush planet full of life again.
Don’t worry about the planet, we are incapable of destroying it in any meaningful way.
Tor and Mullvad to a lesser extent don’t try to erase all fingerprints. They try to normalize the ones that can’t be hidden. So your fingerprints will be randomized within a pool of choices and everyone using Tor or Mullvad shares the same pool. So instead of trying to disappear, you try to blend into the crowd. They can see you, they just can’t tell you apart from the person next to you because your browsers are all broadcasting the same information.
