As if it actually matters what colour a pedestrian is wearing. My winter coat is white and I carry two lights - one on my coat and one either on my head or in my hand if it’s too irritating to wear. The other evening I was walking home from the grocery store and this guy kept pulling out of parking lot that crossed my sidewalk, even though I was waving my light right at him but he didn’t even look in my direction until he was already pulling into traffic. He was never looking for pedestrians, only vehicles.

So a MexUSA trade pact, not a North American. I mean, he can call it whatever he wants I suppose, but it will still be what it is regardless of the name.

The American Dream was an illusion. It was all propaganda to convince people to feed themselves to the capitalist machine for a chance at living the dream life, but even people who aren’t trapped under years of medical debt or homeless or visible minorities don’t have it easy, they’ve just been convinced that’s as good as it gets.

Clearly you do not understand: 1) how addictions work, 2) how mental illnesses that aren’t addiction work, or 3) that almost no one chooses to be homeless but people do fuck up.

There is no excuse to dehumanize anyone and if you’ve got yourself convinced that these people somehow got themselves where they are then you’ve fallen for the capitalist propaganda cause guess what? People who are happy, stable, and well provided for do not generally start doing drugs and people with good mental health support do not typically just stop taking their meds, but people who are comfortable with the status quo will make any excuse to make sure they get to keep what they have while ignoring that everyone has a right to that same comfort but some people need extra help getting there.

If this is happening at work then you need to bring it up to his boss or someone above him, preferably a woman who won’t make excuses for him. Outside of work there’s not a lot you can do except let him know that it’s a huge red flag when older men want women without life experience.

Seriously though, the amount of money I saved by not owning a car gets me a pretty nice place in a city with transit, it’s not great transit but I can’t afford a larger city like Vancouver. Unfortunately where I live is also notoriously hostile towards pedestrians and cyclists.

The person probably wouldn’t have been homeless if not for capitalism. I also make a habit of not believing third hand stories off the internet.

Maybe disenfranchised people who are forced to live in the street have something to be angry about in a system that trains the wage slaves to dehumanize the people who don’t fit in the same box so that we have something to fear if we stop contributing to the machine.

Traffic and car-centrism exist because of capitalism. Fuck the man, take the bus.

I think the point is that AI is wasting all those resources and can’t even work out that if one needs to wash ones car at the car wash, driving it there is required. Thousands of people are losing their jobs to AI when this is how smart it is. Fuck cars, yes - but also fuck AI.

I must be old cause for me it’s “Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of Yum!” and I was already babysitting the target audience for The Rugrats by the time the movie came out.

That’s what I miss about Edmonton too. If I had to go back to Alberta for whatever reason it would definitely be to Edmonton because at least they have a decent transit system.

The ones that come attached to other cars and go to pre-planned destinations on a regular schedule are the preferred ones for me. Give us trains!

I am going to get a bike trainer so I can ride in my garage safely or take the bus to a park and ride the trails. There was a pretty big accident in my town that killed a cyclist in an RCMP charity ride near me this past summer and it really stuck with me. The drivers will bowl over anyone and you never know who’s intoxicated. I don’t want to ride in traffic anymore.

I have a really hard time with hand signals so I’m too scared to ride my bike in public because I had a driver yell at me for getting stop and right mixed up. I don’t know why the car couldn’t just stop at the stop sign and wait an extra second for me to pass regardless of the hand signal. So now even though I love taking to it to my shopping I don’t.

Better than a toilet seat.

And people say my city of 100K is too small for a train.
