In my case it’s the tariffs.
I smell weakness. I want to amplify that weakness as much as I can because America has long abused it’s dominant global position.

Funnily enough there’s a lot of Irish heritage in Mexico. During the Mexican-American war the Irish who were on the American side thought “this is messed up” and swapped to Mexico’s side.
This news story is horrible, but it is funny.
Well, with Russia.
The operative word is “English”. An English language newspaper from China would be.
Yeah, I get your point. But would a US-based Chinese-language newspaper ask for money?
Unrelated but why is the South China Morning Post asking me for money. I’d assume an English language Chinese newspaper exists solely for propaganda purposes. Is there a market for this in the West?
EDIT: It’s Hong Kong based, that’s why it’s so weird.
This is terrible for business. But worse between this and the Rhode Island wind farm he cancelled he seems to be particularly striking fear into the “green” sectors (I know EV’s aren’t really that green). This is not good for the climate.
Well, if you value your life don’t fly WestJet.
“About 70% of commodities grown in Brazil go to China. This allows the Chinese to coerce farmers there to buy equipment and products from Chinese vendors, Grobmyer added.”
What?
Hacking is a crime that ignores borders, I didn’t expect that America would arrest anyone for the crime of hacking it’s enemies like China.
They want it to be part of America on the map to feed Trump’s ego. The minerals there aren’t really worth extracting.
There were reports America was gonna offer everyone $10,000 for Greenland.
America has the money to easily offer every citizen of Greenland $5,000,000. If it were me I’d take that and move to Norway or something. But of course they weren’t prepared to offer more than chump change to the few thousand people there so they went straight to espionage.
Like, Trump could easily make a pretty good deal from America’s perspective. There’s basically nobody there. But he’s choosing coercion.
Well, anything but American, Russian, or Israeli.
China I’m still undecided on, though it’s nearly impossible to avoid. The reason isn’t so much war crimes as just becoming a bit uncomfortably powerful and who knows whether that’s a good or bad thing.
Well, Uganda’s not a death sentence. Unlike El Salvador or South Sudan.
This seems self-destructive. America is gonna really struggle without semiconductors for the next 10 years.
China and EU are both export-oriented economies. The US is the only major import-oriented one.
You didn’t read my reply. I could’ve done better knowing people would just skim it but you can’t accuse me of not reading when you yourselves didn’t.
It should be obvious I was listing them as a counterpoint, and it was wrong of y’all to assume I didn’t know that Netflix, Amazon, and Disney were American. It wasn’t even a case of online sarcasm, since my second sentence made clear I was using them as a comparison point to say “Crunchyroll is the best of them”.
Still, I was maybe a little bit too snarky given the state of reading comprehension in 2025 (which is “skim it and if it doesn’t make sense then assume who you’re talking to an idiot”).
If you fly via El Salvador you should be able to get around America.
