Straßenkatze [She/They]

🟨⬜️🟪⬛️ Freut mich. Ich bin eine Straßenkatze — nonbinär und aro-ace. 🟧🟨⬜️🟦🟦

I was born before Y2K wiped us all out. I am a Manga-lover, a talker, and here for good vibes and to hopefully both learn and help others.

  • Short hair is cute–Cropped with volume or just short-short. That is a really silly thing for onlookers to bring up, but low-hanging fruit is what they prefer to go after, as dealing with reality is too difficult.

And AMABs are indeed unfortunately often forced, either physically or psychologically(abusing their psyche until they “want to,” do so as to try to pretend they gave their child choice) get their hair cut regardless of how they feel about it. My cis as cis could be cousin even, he just straight up preferred longer hair growing up and hated it cut, and it would harm him emotionally if a barber screwed it up(or if they were “influenced,” as I suspect happened in some cases) and made it too short. He was collateral of a society that wants to strike down even the possibility of someone living a life of their own beyond the “values they were raised on,”(gross).

  • Suicide always leaves those of us behind with many questions, more than one takes an ever greater toll on the mind of the one left behind, so I want to first say first and foremost, genuinely: Your emotions are valid, and I know firsthand how much it can make one become overwhelmed.

Yes, suicide hotlines are still a thing. For the LGBTQ+ Youth, there is The Trevor Project, for others 988 services general crisis-level calls. You would need to contact particular crisis centers themselves likely for more details, but I would suspect one would need a degree in Psychology or other therapeutic-esque degrees to work in them.

Other than that, the unfortunate and harsh truth is that if one truly intends to go through with it, you as one person are unlikely to know until it is too late. Some choose the mercy of an out on their own accord, and those serious oft not talk about it unprompted. We have to try to be the best we can for those we cherish, and if something happens in spite of that, we know that we gave them a light, however dim it might have been, before the time. It is not a full solace, but it contextualizes an otherwise very overwhelming feeling.

  • Yikes. At least you got through it, and I have heard a lot about miside, never played it. Does not seem like my bottle of water personally, but I understand the appeal it has for others.

Speaking of computer maintenance, funny story that: This computer I am running is a Linux Box that was running such an old Ubuntu LTS version that it no longer received updates and the repos it pointed to no longer existed. Had to completely reinstall Ubuntu on it to get it up to speed. Nice little box though for what I use it for(which is not much). Once cooked it trying to use sddm as the display manager, had to go into recovery and uninstall it. Linux is great for the same reason it can be problematic for the inexperienced. I had enough experience to fix it, not enough to not have broken it from the outset. Better than the time a bad Linux Distro straight up broke the wireless chip in another computer then managed to make it no longer post. That computer was ready to be retired long before I ever even got it, but it was such a shame. It was an old Alienware Steam Machine.

  • I saw the Miku shirt and fully thought it was the meme of her going “GAY?!”. Ah the memories.

Also, oof, server stuff. I have dealt with so much of that over the years I would rather never touch one again. A database fine, miss me with trying to figure out why a permission set to active is not really set to active when there is no reason for it to not be set to active, or having to babysit the thing to actually boot itself up properly. I do not know exactly what you mean with server(on-platform, a physical one working on its backend, or whatnot), but still, mood mood and bleh. Tomorrow relaxation yay, enjoy it!
