Due to the war, in the past two years, the United States has spent a total of roughly $32 billion to assist Israel. In the first year, under U.S. President Joe Biden, emergency support accounted for about $23 billion, covering an estimated 70% of Israel’s war-related military spending. In the second year, mostly under President Trump, aid totaled $3.8 billion, the annual amount pledged under the agreement.
That’s just what’s been done openly. I keep thinking about slush funds, dark money, and failed or unattempted audits.
“The Biden administration, Congress, and the U.S. media played along with Israel’s lies and deception about the horrific death toll in Gaza — over 80 percent civilians; over half, women and children — so that they could gaslight Americans into continued support for Israel,” said Sarah Leah Whitson, the executive director of human rights group DAWN. She said that, along with other debunked Israeli claims about the war, the denials of the death toll helped “ensure Israel can continue its crimes and the U.S. can continue to arm it.” Hani Almadhoun, co-founder of the Gaza Soup Kitchen, whose brother Mahmoud was killed by an Israeli drone in November 2024, said it was difficult to defend against officials and media outlets dismissing the death tolls as “Hamas numbers.” “To every government spokesperson, every news anchor, and every celebrity who repeated that denial — I hope you never know what it feels like to lose your family and then be told your loss is ‘disputed,’” Almadhoun told The Intercept. With media and NGO workers barred by Israel from entering the Strip, the Palestinian health ministry’s count has been the only reliable source of the death toll during the genocide. The latest health ministry figure estimates at least 71,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israel, a number that is still growing while Israel continues to strike the besieged territory at a near-daily rate in violation of the so-called ceasefire. Here is a brief accounting of the people and institutions who have denied the Palestinian death tolls in Gaza throughout Israel’s genocide.

According to New America, an organization that tracks the air war, the US launched more airstrikes in Somalia in 2025 than were conducted during the administrations of Joe Biden, Barack Obama, and George W. Bush combined. Despite the unprecedented bombing campaign, the US air war in Somalia receives virtually no media coverage in the US.

Like much news lately, this story made me very sad. I was just reading about new sanctions on Iran, so much suffering at the hands of the empire and their proxies. Reverend Jeremiah Wright was right, and Obama withdrawing his membership from his church was the bellweather of things to come. Zero integrity should set off alarm bells.

What we’ve known from founding so far should have been enough for justice to have prevailed multiple times; that it hasn’t speaks volumes, loudly.
Btw, saying “from the river to the sea” is now illegal in Australia, will be interesting to see if it’s equally illegal for zionists and Palestine supporters.
That’s what you get for acquiescing to doing evil.
Doing that means anyone with genuine curiosity is being fed boatloads of imperial narrative, without dissent. That said, it’s probably what’s going to happen eventually, regardless. Still, I do have admiration for the voice crying in the wilderness, for the wandering and lost soul that may hear the call.
