I’ve had the exact opposite experience before. I used to work the phones at a family physician’s office and a man called in asking for advice for his dog diagnosed with cancer. I let him know id ask the doctor to get back in touch with him but she is unfortunately trained in human medicine and may not be able to aid in veterinary concerns. The doctor loved my notes from that call so much that she printed them off and hung it up in her office.

I worked in a rural hospital in a blue state throughout the entire pandemic and do not remember this. Can someone add sources bc I’m not seeing much when I Google it. The hospital I worked for had serious problems with misappropriation of funds from government funding but we did have PPE.

From personal experience, if a girl is raped by the high school’s star athlete, it is the girl who is ostracized by the town for going to the police. Small towns can be incredibly dangerous to outsiders (with outsider meaning any family without at least three generations worth of full-time residence)
