I’d pretty much go as far as to claim that ketchup is only good with fries and even there it’s still outmatched by mayo.
There is always a well-known solution to every human problem - neat, plausible, and wrong.

I have the same one but with added grip for furious writing.

It’s self-vulcanizing tape.

The “break” from sitting in my case means working

No need to overthink reversible decisions. You’re not signing up for a platform for life. If it seems bad then you switch, or if it simply doesn’t work out then you go do something else. You’re not dooming the rest of your life here.
You won’t regret trying and failing but you will regret not even giving it a chance.

Bonus if its pure HTML.
That’s what mine essentially is. I did that myself as well with no past experience and it shows. I’m put off by small businesses with those ultra fancy websites that technically look good but are difficult to navigate and frankly don’t inspire a huge amount of trust. I’m a guy and a van - not a multimillion corporation and I want the website to reflect that as well.
It has a picture of me and some background about what I’m up to and why. There’s pictures of my previous work for reference, a list of examples of work that I do and also what I don’t do, and there’s my pricing and contact information as well as a contact form. That’s it. No fancy animations or graphics. Just labeled buttons and pages with clearly laid out information and pictures.
I even designed my own logo.

If youre a nice person who actually calls me back I’ll probably hire you for work.
Exactly. The bar is incredibly low. Standing out to your advantage has never been easier.

I went from an employee to self-employed and I didn’t exactly have prior work experience in that particular field (renovation work) but my previous job was kind of related (plumbing).
I shared like 2000 flyers to the houses near me over the first year but had to stop since I’m already over-booked and can’t do more without hiring employees, which I’m not going to do.
It’s not exactly easy but it’s not exceedingly hard either. If it’s something you literally can’t stop thinking about then that’s a good sign. Someone who does it just for money has to work so much harder than someone who has a passion for it - and people notice.

The +200 of them that I have blocked.

And Plato argued that writing things down is bad because then we don’t need to remember anything.

You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.

Very little. I’ve obtained most of my material desires and what ever I still want I could techically afford but can’t justify it - like a quad bike.
I didn’t ask for much to begin with and I’m satisfied with what I got. Not wanting a thing is as good as having it.
Doing the dishes, vacuuming, washing my car, mowing the lawn … Pretty much any task that I can’t just do once and be over with. Feels pointless to do stuff that I’ll just need to do again in a few weeks or so.

Doesn’t matter if you get hit in the face by a fallen brick.
Often not getting into a situation in the first place is far better than being in the right.

I’ve got bins of copper and brass left over from work. Should probably take it to the scrapyard some day.
I was 18 at the time and received a PM on a online forum from her because my username indicated we were born the same year.
The second one I found from a platform similar to Omegle.
Third I PM’d on Instagram.
That’s almost two decades of my life. Now I’m single again. If there is to be a fourth one, I expect them to be discovered from an equally odd place - likely somewhere online.

Difficult to describe. Remotely similar to Red Bull but less bitter, maybe more bubbly. A sweet sparkling wine/cider-like. Sophisticated. Something a kid would drink if served but would likely never pick themselves.

That is always the case when comparing one’s complex internal life to the perceived external lives of others. It’s never an apples to apples comparison. However social media was just one example. This applies to other forms of signaling as well: designer clothes, latest tech, following trends… Basically almost anything people do that they wouldn’t do if there were no one to see it.

Sure, but the starting point is that I already don’t know something and need to look it up one way or another. Yes, the AI answer might be wrong but the guy on the YouTube video or online forum could equally be wrong. That is not something unique to AI.
I’m also obviously not just blindly trusting what it says. When it recommends me a product for example I don’t just go buy it without a question. The AI is just pointing me to the hopefully right direction for me to figure it out but the ultimate decision still remains mine.
A good recent example:
“I need to paint plywood that gets wet regularly, should I use paint A or paint B?”
“Neither, you should use paint C”
*Looks up paint C*
“Yes, I definitely should use paint C”

I’d almost extend this to any kinds of trickery about what people are putting into their mouths. The consequences can be lethal at worst.
A bit unrelated but at a previous work place the guys there put viagra into another guy’s food as a joke where as I would’ve considered that borderline assault.
