We cannot even have meaningful conversations with our closest genetic relatives, the chimps. We studied the songs of the whales for decades and haven’t deciphered a single word (AFAIK). There is a lot of work to do, before we can even dream of talking to someone from outer space.

I did it a few times at local horse races that i went to watch. I bet only small amounts for the fun of it, and i think it contributed a little to the whole atmosphere of the event. So, nothing serious. The most I won was, when i made a mistake and bet on a complete outsider by error. Then that outsider won, and from the proceeds i could go and buy me a new pair of jeans.

Vielleicht sollten sich die leute von ihren kindern/enkeln ein bisschen mediankompetenz beibringen lassen, anstatt ihnen das internet zu verbieten?

Wenn man sich die dummheit ansieht, mit der in den (nicht nur) sozialen median über politik “berichtet” wird, und auch die noch viel furz-dümmeren kapriolen, die politiker treiben, um ins dortige rampenlicht zu kommen, wäre es vielleicht gar nicht so schlecht, insgesamt weniger über politik zu reden/schreiben. Dafür mehr über wissenschaft, kunst und kultur. Letztere haben die menschheit im positiven sinne weiter gebracht, während politik/religion uns doch nur wieder ins dunkelste mittelalter zurückzutreiben suchen.
